How many can say?...Young at heart...OLD everywhere else? 🤭
I'm 70. I am bewildered. How did this happen???? As long as I'm standing up, I can do most of the things I did 10 years ago. I'm trying to get fit again. I'm even riding a bike after a break of 40 years. I'm not so happy if I have to kneel. Weeding the garden is difficult. Mentally I can see no difference.

Happiness grows with age.
New research conducted by the University of Chicago has found the oldest Americans are the happiest.
Putting to rest the stereotype of the lonely, frail senior, researchers found that contemporary older adults are
quite active and that socializing is key to happiness.

The study was based on interviews with 28,000 person's aged 18 to 88.
In general, the odds of being happy increased 5% with every 10 years of age.
Separately, another study found that 75% of Americans aged 57 to 85 participate in one or more social activities
every week.
People in their 80s enjoyed participating in gathering with friends and neighbors, exercise classes, volunteering,
and attending religious services.

I dont think so, my friend. Young or old, sick or well... God is with us always. And that's what should matter.
Ultimately it's what matters. But for this life, aging SUCKS. If you're good with saggy skin and parts that don't work right anymore, more power to you. I do not share that indifference to what happens to the human body over time.

I grew up Catholic too and quite familiar with the Stations of the Cross. I believe that there were 14 of them. I love to read also and now that I find myself retired I visit the local library at least once a week. I probably got too much time on my hands. Maybe I should get a part-time job somewhere to stay in the game. I've read a few cereal boxes too.
I did retire early for 4 months. I'm back at work. Maybe you should find yourself a pt job?? Lots of jobs available !!

Fact is we are all getting older, but its up to you ass to what you do with that. I'm super active and have lots of fun. On purpose. I love to take off on road trips by myself, blast music and go where I want. I hang out with people I like and don't accept invitations if I don't feel like saying yes. Last night I went out dancing and everyone had a date and I was very ok with that. I think a big part of the happiness is doing the things you enjoy without trying to be 'someone else' or trying to please other people. I get kinda mad when people complain about getting old, but just do nothing to feel healthy and happy. Bummer for them but everyone can do a little something to be a healthier , happier person.

Yeah, I might just do that Lizzy. I told my wife that I was thinking getting back into the workforce in some capacity but she says to only work part-time. I have a history of grabbing a lot of OT if available. Of course, I'm not getting any younger and time becomes a more precious commodity.

PT work might be perfect for you. There are so many pt jobs out there. I've noticed many in the school districts. It can get wild, but those littles are pretty amazing!

With regard to being 'full of days,' I've yet to assess whether I am half empty or half full. However, I'm definitely about a quarter way to goodly grey.
