well women give men soap as a hint they should wash. Otherwise...they dont?
We don't?

Personally I don't like stinking. But I know the stereotype of the single guy who doesn't bother bathing unless he's going on a date tonight.

I am definitely a stereotypical guy though in that I don't care what kind of soap I use as long as it washes. I use diluted dawn dishwashing liquid in a foam pump for my shampoo. It works great.

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering what you all thought of the fashion/makeup trend that convinces women that they just have to have bigger and bigger... pairs of eyelashes.

My Mom and I went to lunch the other day (Mod Pizza! It's really good!), and one of the girls who was part of the assembly line had false lashes so bushy that they literally resembled a shag carpet.

It was a bit like this:

Unfortunately, I'm not exaggerating. Now I'm sure the girl had beautiful eyes, but I couldn't see them -- all I could see were these huge woolly caterpillars perched above her upper eyelid that would move up and down when she blinked. (I am 310% sure that there is no way they were natural, as her bottom lashes were just a thin line.) I was seriously wondering how she could even see in order to make the pizzas.

And I always wonder exactly how these trends start. I'm sure there are executives at fashion and makeup corporations who decide things like these are THE latest painful, expensive "look" that women "must" have, and then proceed to market the bajingas out of it.

I myself have extremely sensitive eyes and have never been able to hop on the false eyelash, let alone mascara or even full eye makeup bandwagon. The only time I try to wear eye makeup is maybe for church, and then I have to wash it off as soon as I get home because my eyes are burning.

And I can't help but think that men really don't notice or care about women's eyelashes all that much.

But maybe I could be wrong?

Now I'm certainly not trying to say that advertising doesn't push unrealistic ideals on both genders.

I was just curious as to how much eyelashes mattered to men (supposedly the ones we are doing this to impress,) if at all.

So how about it, everyone?

* Ladies, what do you think of the really really false false eyelash trend? Do you bother putting in the time or trouble to try it? How do you like the results?

Just to be clear, I'm in full support of anyone who likes to do a little natural enhancement (of the eyelash variety.) I would do so myself if they didn't make me feel like my eyes were on fire. The only lashes I question are the ones that are so extreme, you're wondering what kind of fuzzy creatures the woman glued on to her eyelids that morning.

* Men, have you, or are you, attracted to women with an impressive set of... eyelashes?!

I'm looking forward to what I'm hoping will be a fun (and informative) thread!
The only time I notice a womans eyelashes is when they wear big, fake lashes. I find that a huge turnoff. Fake eyelashes are just one of those things that's an automatic turnoff.

Personally, not into that look. Prefer a more natural look. I like eyeliner and such, but all in moderation. What was described was not moderate.

well
I did polish my car and waxed it on the weekend but, well its got this lichen growing on the roof which I kind of have to remove.
I thought what why is lichen growing on my car, but it hasnt been in the garage and it rains a lot so the lichen likes the dampness of my car roof.

I didnt see any car light eyelashes when I went to buy the wax and claybar though I did see these vinyl stickers that look like band aids to cover your car dents.

The thing with cars is you kind of have to use EXACT matching concealer to cover up blemishes otherwise you need do the WHOLE panel all over otherwise it ends up looking blotchy.

haha what does this have to do with anything
well for men who dont wear makeup I'm just telling you what its like.

I know lots of women who wear makeup and they have to blend blend blend, otherwise their face skin colour does not match with their neck colour. Or there is this line like where you see the plastic ends with a barbie doll head and the rest of her body.

Eyelashes can be a tie breaker when women are competing for male attention, especially when there are not many women to choose from.

I've been places before where women were outnumbered 1 to 500, no exaggeration. I don't know how to explain this exactly, but when there aren't many female options, the finer details of attraction emerge and are noticed: eyelashes, nails, eye color, etc.

In my opinion, men don't generally see eyelashes, nails and eye color as main points of attraction when there are many available women to choose from. Women enhance those features to stand out as exceptional among their competitors even if they aren't looking for a date. Sometimes a woman just wants to feel more beautiful to feel more confident.

I thought it was smell if they didnt have good eyesight. Colour blindness is more common in men than women for some strange reason.

If you smell like a good meal, I am sure that is attractive to most men.

but whatever. Im kinda getting bored of this topic! No offense, its probably super important to some people

Was there a song to go with it? Something about this is the thread that doesn't end? =^.^=

(For those who don't get it, the puppet was the lead actress in a children's TV show, and the end credits featured a song that doesn't end.)

I remember that show...can't recall the lady's name. But I think the puppet's name was Lamby...
Lambchop... which is a BLEEP of a name for a sheep puppet. Nobody ever addressed that though.

What was HER name though?

I didn't watch it much because I thought that the show was lame. No illusion of the puppet being a real personality. You would always see her elbow.

Shari Lewis?

Don't ask me how I guessed that... I could never bring myself to watch the show (and I was no stranger to kid shows, but even I couldn't bear that one.)

I saw this movie adaption of Rebecca starring Lily James as the second mrs de winter.

If you ever read the Daphne Du Maurier classic novel you'll know what Im talking about....anyway

In the movie, Lily James had this fake blond hair that totally did not go with her brown eyes and dark eyebrows. All throughout the movie I was thinking shes not really blonde, she's not really blonde. Aside from her acting skills...when she DID put on a brown haired wig in her ball scene she actually looked normal.

I think it just about ruined the story for me cos her hair was so distracting.

if you are naturally blonde then your eyelashes would also be blonde and that is when you cant see them that people would wear mascara.

As I have never seen blonde mascara it is usually black. But if you already have black hair you dont really need it.
