Just curious were you actually baptized in the name of the Lord? Or, were you baptized in the titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost?
The bible speaks of both. So not sure there is an issue either way

I was not saved by my pastor immersing in water. where he said only in the lord or the father son and spirit.

I was saved by the immersion which was performed by God

Only for that specific group that Peter was addressing.

I have proven through Scripture that faith in Christ is what forgives sin (Acts 10:43) and saves (John 3:16, 5:24) and by which the Spirit is received (Cornelius and Gal 3:2,5).

No argument here. And John 3:5 says to enter the kingdom, one must be born again. John 1:12 and Gal 3:26 tells us that we are born again (become children of God) through faith.
Look closely at what is stated in Acts 10:43. It specifically states that it is through Jesus' name that sins are remitted.

Acts 10:43
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Note the parallel in what Peter told believers on the Day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:38) The Gentiles received the same command to submit to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 10:47-48)

Are you saying some are required to have water baptism but some may not?
Is that not saying there are at least two ways to salvation?
Would like also to know who has authority to baptize?
Who gives that authority?

If baptism is necessary, a person's salvation is not only dependent on faith but also on the actions (submitting to baptism) of the one who believes but also on another person who would baptize.
You are taking your salvation and eternal life out of the hands of God and putting them in your own actions and the actions of a third party.
As I pointed out, my answer regarding medical issues, etc. was speculation. Personally, I find it hard to believe that any circumstance would keep a person from obeying God's command to be water baptized once they realized it was an essential part of salvation.

As to who has authority to baptize, every believer has that authority. This authority was given by God. God will use whoever is willing and available for the task. Normally, people get water baptized by leaders in their church. However, it is of no consequence who baptizes a person. What is essential is that the believer understands it is necessary to be buried with Jesus in order for their sins to be remitted.

The actual transaction, so to speak, is between God and the one who has chosen to obey His command.

It is not for me to judge, but it is a real concern when I see people trusting in their own physical actions in conjunction with the physical actions of a third party to gain salvation.
The point is being obedient to God's command. To put trust elsewhere is not wise.

Excellent, Precious friend, Richman! And a Very Warm Welcome to a new member:

Ephesians 4:5 1 Corinthians 12:13

Yes, 'water' is, imho, the Most Divisive tradition in denominational christen-
dom, Today. Prayerful And Careful study of God's Word Of TRUTH, Rightly
Divided
, Indeed shows us "God's Answer" Of NO 'water ritual' for us, Today,
Under HIS Amazing GRACE, As He Plainly And Clearly Teaches There is
'ONLY'
ONE Baptism for The Body of CHRIST, Today, Under God's PURE GRACE,
And,
should not be Confused with, But Must Be:

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That DIFFER!” {online}:

the other 12 baptismS found In God's Word Of TRUTH! Amen?

God's Wonderful 'Answer Thus Eliminates' ALL of the following
Disagreements And Confusion:

1) believe AND be baptized {i.e. immersion to contact their Christ's blood}?
2) immersion with a symbolic interpretation?
3) immersion ONCE in the "name of Jesus?
4) immersion THRICE in the "name of the Triune Godhead?
5) immersion {whether once or thrice} for "membership" in their traditional assembly?
6) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into religion washing away their original sin?
7) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into some covenant?
8) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into their parent's custody that they promise to raise them right? {into Mass Confusion?}
9) sprinkling water on babies, admitting that their ritual is UNscriptural, but "we do it anyway, because it is OUR tradition!"?
10) pouring water onto babies or adults for Whatever traditional reason religion "can come up with"?
11) immersion of young and middle-aged women 'similar' to worldly/ungodly 'wet t-shirt' contests?
12) immersion Discriminates Against ALL "those who CANNOT 'obey' this ritual" ie: the hospitalized, the bedridden, the homebound, the invalids, the traumatized, etc.

God is Certainly 'NOT the author' (1 Corinthians 14:33) of all this "carnal DIVISION"
which is similar to what Paul addresses in (1 Corinthians 1:9-17), Correct?

Again, our 'choice' = participate in this Massive Confusion or believe God,
Today, Under GRACE =

There is 'ONLY' ONE Baptism, Today, Under God's PURE GRACE! Amen?
---------------------------------------
I thank God gratefully Every Day, That HIS ETERNAL Salvation For me,
IS In HIS HANDS ALONE! Amen?

(2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 3:9 =
Grace/Mystery
fellowship {Romans – Philemon}, For ALL “to SEE,” today?)

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!
God’s Simple Will!

The bible does not speak of both. That is a misconception.

Jesus gave a command and the apostles obeyed the command by baptizing in the name of the Lord Jesus.
To baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is to repeat Jesus' command, not obey His command to use a name.

Matt 28: 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

How many times are we supposed to be baptized?

I am guessing by your response that you were not water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. It is necessary as confirmed by scripture. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

The point is being obedient to God's command. To put trust elsewhere is not wise.
What you are saying is that faith is not enough.

Salvation is based on faith and works.

I will pray for you. That you will come to a true understanding of Salvation being completely
in Jesus.
He does not need your help.

We are supposed to be water baptized correctly 1 time. Notice in Acts 19:1-6 that Paul required those who had been water baptized by John to be water baptized again in the name of the Lord Jesus. Afterward he laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost.

lol.

Since it is not essential to be saved. It does not matter.

Ahh, So Jesus was wasting his time telling his disciples to go baptize in the name of all three.

So we replace spirit baptism with Water. and Ignore the great commission of Jesus?

The bible says it is to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sin. (Acts 2:38, 22:16) That is something only you can make the choice to believe or not. Just pointing out scripture.

The point is Jesus said to use a name. The apostles did that in every detailed water baptism recorded. They baptized in the name of the Lord. Paul references this truth in 1 Cor 1:13-16.

Getting off for now. If need be I will address any other comments tomorrow.

pretty much if you are Oneness Pentecostal like wansvic is

they do not believe in the Trinity, so they are certainly not going to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

further, they teach that if you are not baptized in water, you are not saved and if you do not speak in tongues you are not saved despite that fact that the Bible states all do not speak in tongues

I do have that gift myself, so it is not that I am anti-tongues, I am anti- nonsense and twisting scripture.

I suggest that YOU more closely. It doesn't say "through Jesus' name".

Acts 10:43
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

I don't know if your error is intentional or just reading too quickly, but the next TWO WORDS are the key to receiving remisison of sins.

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

The action for remission of sins is to believe in Christ. The result is to have sins remitted.

that would explain why he does not believe in the Father Son and Spirit. I wonder what bible they use. and what matt 28 says in it.

Ouch Immersion by a man and having to speak in tongues..

Self promotion. Its what I do. Not hwat God did and does.

That's scary.

I see he opened a thread on it

Anyone who wishes to understand what Jesus meant in Matthew 28:19 need only to look up each detailed water baptism recorded. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6, 22:16) The evidence is in the word itself. Every water baptism is done in the name of the Lord Jesus. Why? Because it is Jesus who was crucified for mankind. Paul made a point of indicating this in his conversation with the Corinthian's in 1 Cor. 1:12-15. Also relevant is the fact that in Jesus dwells all of the fulness of the Godhead. How do we know this? The bible tells us so, and makes a distinct association with baptism. Colossians 2:9-13.

Those who are interested in seeing who decided churches should use the phrase instead of obey Jesus' command can easily find the answer if they so desire. Do an Internet search.
I guess we have a flawed bible. Jesus either made a mistake in Matt 28, Or the bible lied. He never said that.

If you refuse to believe acts 2;38, et al.,...then you dont believe the Bible.
What version of the bible do you use?
