I have often wondered about this. See for me when I was saved I already knew Jesus died for my sins and believed he did so but I never felt connected to him and honestly didn't care to but what made this event different for me is I had a repentant heart I literally was at my end and didn't care if I died or not i felt dead inside and called out to him in tears saying I was sorry and to please come into my heart. it was the very next morning I had this life and fire in me while my friend who is a well known atheist followed all the rules he went to church he read the bible he even taught in some of the classes to children but he said he never once felt God and I wondered why this was for him for years but when I tried it just happened.

I think the condition of the heart is the deciding factor, it very well could be a process and maybe even years before one recieves the holy spirit because I think that is what it takes for some of us to have our hearts in true repentance. After all any gardener knows the kind of work it takes to make soil fit for planting it is a process and a slow one at that

No, they didn't have the chance to believe. They were placed under a deep sleep.

Romans 11:7-8 NLT - 7 So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have--the ones God has chosen--but the hearts of the rest were hardened. 8 As the Scriptures say, "God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear."
How did he do that?

Show them the truth, so that seeing they may not see and hearing they may not hear. Its called hardening (strengthening) the heart.

Our pastors of today do not teach the passages that I am offering. That's why they are so foreign.

And yes they did have a chance..

Matthew 23:37
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing

Ok. But the Scripture that I have offered [is] Scripture. We have to find a way to make all of Scripture to be accurate.

Oh they teach them

Just not the way you do

They are not as foreign as you think they are brother
Not in my area of the world. The last pastor I had, for seven months, didn't even mention Jesus from the Pulpit. It's not good.

Yes we do

As Moses lifted up the serpent, so must the son of man be lifted up. THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM will NOT PERISH but has EVERLASTING LIFE

for GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM shall NOT PERISH but HAS EVERLASTING LIFE

FPr God did nto send his son into the world to JUDGE THE WORLD but that the WORLD THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.

He who BELIEVES is not condemned, He who does not believe is CONDEMNED ALREADY. Because he has not believed.

I have already explained the passages you have shard with a different perspective.

I hear you. My perspective comes from thousands of hours of reading the Bible multiple times in a timeline, chronological order and cataloging Scripture to formulate strong conclusions.

But being given the sight to see is the Work of Christ. This is Circumcision of the Heart.
the circumcision of the heart is what makes us clean my friend. Your not clean UNTIL you are justified.

We can not have a person cleansed from sin and made alive, while still dead in sin (unjustified)

I have the same amount of time my friend.. In fact, I used to trend your view of thinking.

We must always be open that we may be wrong,,

I'm open to being wrong. I've felt the Raw, Almighty Power of God and know that I live simply because He allows it. If I am wrong, then it means I am placing others in jeopardy . . . that's terrifying.

I'd be great to sit down and go over God's Word. Frankly, I can't stand this writing stuff. So much is lost . . . and people become so easily angered through text when they wouldn't otherwise.

Gotta run! And seriously, I appreciate this exchange. Very, very cool. :D

Lol. They are not clean until they are justified.

Justified means declared righteous or innocent. That is what makes them clean.

A prisoner is not clean until his debt is paid. Only then after his death is “paid in full “ “Tetelestai” are they cleaned or made righteous
