I was married almost 12 years. Lived with someone who was a narcissist. Many things done were manipulated to be agreeable with my ex. Finally enjoying watching movies and getting out more. This summer have many things planned had to put on hold. Fishing, hiking, giant flea markets, amusement parks. Life is too short not to enjoy things . I do not let my age stop me in trying some new things. I want to try ziplining at least once and try a new food. It's called moving on and yes still letting the Lord lead me ,amen!

My first marriage years ago was a bust too. There are others here too that have their own horror story about a bad marriage.

You are right in saying that life is too short not to enjoy things. God wants us to have life and to have it more abundantly. After the divorce it took a couple years for the healing to begin that allowed me to start moving forward again. It looks like that you are now moving forward too.

Yes, it is wise to allow the Lord to lead you and to show you the right path to fruitful and enjoyable living.

Regarding the ziplining, Niagara Falls has a zipline. It could be a most wild and exhilarating experience. I have always wanted to sky dive at least once, but life kept getting in the way. Even so, I have had a bit of adventure in my life. I spent years living in Orlando, Florida and was about an hour away from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios and have been there many times. Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is awesome too if you are into roller coasters.

For me, day to day living is an adventure and well worth the cost of admission.

Love Cedar Point my son and I will be going this year. We live in Ohio usually one of our favorite parks. I have thought about sky diving also. Ziplining across Niagra Falls wow, would pray about that, lol.

do married people not try new foods or zipline? Just wondering.

What do narcissists actually do in a marriage anyway, just expect their spouse to be their mirror and not go anywhere or something?

I think its good to be free, Jesus set the captives free.

I guess it depends on who you are married too. Narcissists seem to want to control everything. If they don't they treat you as though you should feel bad for wanting to do something they don't want to do. Also push you to seperate from family and friends.
It is very freeing to not have to tolerate a person with a nasty disposition for no reason.
Personally getting my life back and the peace and joy .

Marriage should never feel like you're not good enough, or don't deserve it. It's an entirely, equally, cooperative effort.

When my Ex filed for divorce, I just knew it was the right thing...

Now, I live absolutely on my own terms, and accept 100% of the blame. Funny thing is... there's no argument because... I don't offend myself lol

I'm married and I try new foods all of the time. My honey is a bit of an adventurer in the kitchen. Jesus said that the truth will set you free. Or maybe that was from the X-Files? The only zips that I know are Ziploc food storage bags. I guess that I'm handy in the kitchen.

Each day I get up praise God and move forward. Enjoy every moment of quiet, that has been replaced from a disagreeable person. Maybe why I love fishing so much. Usually so peaceful.

Lucky you. I argue with myself all the time. I'm just so stupid sometimes I have to tell myself off.

So.... what does yourself say?
I usually say something unChristian to myself, and then I reprimand me for such language and warn against prideful responses to correction. Before you know it, the fists are flying.
