.... and you are entitled to your opinion.... everybody has 'em.... and you know the rest of that story.... :p
As a guy who has been shot at twice in his life I whole heartedly disagree and believe Canada should adapt the right to bare arms.

What was the purpose of walls around cities in the Bible?
I'm not saying that you don't lock up your car or your house. And the walls were not much good when God took His protection off Israel, as happened all too often. The weapons of the Christian's warfare are spiritual because that is where the real battle rages. I was in the military for nearly 9 years. I was raised in a military family. I have nothing against defending the nation, but I'm not convinced that arming every citizen with a military grade weapon is the answer.

Some Americans seem to think that the government is their enemy. Maybe that's how it will turn out eventually. I doubt that owning a high powered rifle will help.

Are ARs used in the military? I don't see gov't as friend or foe. They are elected by the people to do a job. But that doesn't mean someone can't come in to power that may try to take our freedoms. As the Jews found out.

Is it okay for Christians to own a gun legally for protection purposes?
Some Christians might want to own a firearm for defending themselves against home invaders. And there's nothing to say that this is wrong. There have been many cases when having a weapon enabled a homeowner (or store owner) to prevent great harm or loss. The apostles were encouraged to carry swords to protect themselves (presumably against bandits while traveling).

However the Leftist campaign for "Gun Control" is totally irrational and also sinister, since no one can control criminals from carrying guns legally or illegally. The hidden agenda is to deprive law-abiding citizens from any means to protect themselves, particularly against tyrannical governments and criminals. The focus should be on criminal control.

But the Left wants criminals to flourish so that there is an exponential increase is crimes and lawlessness (which leads to anarchy), which is exactly what Communist/Fascists want. Then they can exert tyrannical powers which have never been granted to them. When there was anarchy and arson on the streets and statues and memorials were being torn down, vandalized, and destroyed, the Leftist media called it "peaceful protests". But when there were actual peaceful protests, they called the protesters "Nazis" and every other vile epithet, and governments even locked them up for exercising their civil rights. The results of the sham "January 6 insurrection", and the gulag in which innocents are being made to suffer, should be a warning that Stalinism is very much alive in North America. And there is no huge outcry against this injustice and loss of liberty.

Good point. Surrounding each school property with a high chainlink fence with barbed wire on top and having limited openings with cameras and control for the openings in the main office of the schools should solve the problem.

Anything that slows a shooter down and makes them think it's not worth trying is a help. That is what hardening a target is all about. But it seems too many errors were made here by the police. I think there will be a lot of jobs lost over this.

How is turning a school into a prison going to change anything? They are still going to be taught doctrines that will corrupt them. Remember when jesus said eating with unwashed hands doesnt defile a person but what comes from the mouth defiles them because what comes from the mouth comes from the heart.

The key to change is to change what people believe so they value human life, treat each other with dignity and respect the God intended.

You can't do that in a public school. If I was a parent I would give up what I could to afford Christian school for my children. My sister did for her two boys and then home schooled for a few yrs.

You say that now but look at what Hitler got away with, he built entire kimps for the purpose of killing people, never underestimate evil people. If the government wants to do it they will do it and their is nothing you can do about it because of the retaliation they will do if you try to stand up to them.

Oh trust me, I don't! As I have said before the Jews say "never again". I'm totally for the right to carry.

And yet we have America, who did just that. ;)

Canada is going the same way as Nazi Germany, look at Treaudau, he didnt like the truckers protest he cut off their money suspending their bank accounts. Thats why governments are forcing people to use online services and automatic deposits and digitak currencies.

Tracking people for the slaughter just like Hitler did.

Ontario Government doing the samething refusing to use paper cheques.

Wont be too long before the provincial and federal governments have people flying swastikas again.

I know these things have to happen before the end. But it saddens my heart to see people swallow these things so easily.

I know but seeing these things reminds us that the end is near. Jesus told us what the end of the world would be like and it wasn't a pleasant picture.

Personally I can't think of anything in scripture that tells us clearly if owning a firearm for protection is right or wrong. Back then they had swords. As far as I know swords is the only weapon mentioned in the Bible. The way I always took it is, there is a difference between personal and military use. On one hand you got Jesus saying "turn the other cheek" And yet whenever He talked to a soldier He never asked them to leave their position to follow him.

But turn the other cheek wouldn't apply to someone breaking into your home.

Well dont you think if they had guns instead od swords the same rules would apply, just as a project for fun, take all the verses that refer to swords and shields and replace those words with guns and see what you come up with. They had swords and shields for offence and defence back then and we have guns....

I dont think the rules changed just the form of the weapon.

Sister salvation, many do not believe we need one, I personally believe all believers should have some protection (Luke 22:36-38!!). Jesus told his people to buy a sword, why? Because if another person is in trouble, YOU can help them!! Peter had no problem cutting the ear off a soldier, and Jesus knowing he would do this sure did not stop him before he did it! (John 18:4-11!!)

Jesus did not rebuke Peter, he just told him that is enough. SO!!!! That is why I carry a weapon, I am trained, and can help another, and have!! I respect those who do not own protection, but we all have different ministries, and we need all in the Body of Christ.
