Right now I'm looking at Proverbs 3
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+3&version=NIV

Proverbs 3:5 says:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

Then in Proverbs 3:6 says

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

About 4 or 5 years ago, I was on Social Anxiety Support Forums. I had posted about some "lust" problems, and someone decided to engage with me on it. He seemed to have that kind of attitude that "now that I'm saved I know longer lust anymore" kind of thing. Whenever someone says something like that to me, I feel like I'm in a very strange spot. Because I think a lot of people on their own experiences. Then they assume since God did a special work in their lives that anyone who is truly following Jesus will also have the same special work happen in their life too. I think my brain waves go all over the place, then seek to flat line, when I run into people like this... As far as I can tell, every Christian has some sins they struggle with, and some sins they do not struggle with.... ANYWAYS! I tried to tell this person my point of view, and every time he would block me with the verse: "lean not on your own understanding". I was amazed at how this guy could turn the bible into a weapon like that. Anything I would say, He had a verse to block me. But lean not on your own understanding was one that he used on me several times. It was so frustrating to watch someone take the Bible out of context and then use it that way to correct me. Anyways we went back and forth for about three times, and then never spoke to each other again.

I don't know what to say about some of this stuff. But there is something different about someone who comes into my life in a loving caring way, verses someone to comes in acting like a Mr. Know It All. Acting like someone that has got not a thing in the world wrong with them, and I am the one that has got everything wrong with me. The funny thing is, I know that I don't have it all together. And when I see people like him, it makes glad that I don't have it all together. I don't want to be the person that goes around telling everyone else how to be...

I guess I'm going to quit here. But I'm still thinking on this... It seems that without love, nothing matters.

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Religion is easier than love.
I'm only here because my health is such that I need to stay close to my bed most of the time. I can only watch so many movies.
Otherwise...

I've joined and quit numerous Christian forums. This is about as good as it gets. I guess it's just a matter of learning where and where not to go...who and who not to talk to. Too many delight in slicing you up with their words. Oh well.
Be careful who you trust...I mean with everyone.

The owner of one site told me that these sites are what we make them. They're all about the same.
reminds me of a guy walked up to a poarch where someone was sitting. The guy asked, what is this town like, I am looking for somewhere to move related to my new job. The girl on the poarch asked, what were people like where you now live. The guy said, selfish, rude, lould. She said, that is how many here are too. Bottom line, we influnce others and how we view one place is likely how we will view other places too. The other day, there was a very loud party outside near my home. So, I got dressed and went over to talk to the home owner, it was 2 AM. They turned down the music, and moved the party inside. I was told the next day, that several other people called the police and shut down the party completely after that. Arrests were made because of drugs and serving beer to minors. Over the next week, vandelism was done on homes they beleived called the police. Some came over to help me lift and move heavy rocks.

Sounds like your neighbors need to grow up and realize that they are not the only ones on the planet.

Your welcome to have a conversation here. :) I don't care. I just don't have time to read everything.
