I forget what year I last went to the dentist.
I've been fortunate to have good teeth, however, I can't let dental health be someone else's responsibility. I'm not saying that this is for everyone. This has been working for me though.
I took a couple courses in natural dentistry, have my own dental instruments and developed a better habit of more frequent self checkups. By the help and grace of God,
I caught some superficial "cavities" before they went very far and was able to reverse them. Now I'm working on two last ones that are more stubborn in the back molars. It's not a quick grind a big hole, weakening the tooth, and fill with mercury and lead with a little silver as all dentists did for generations. It is gradual work on the surface, dental hygiene and diet to put it simply. This is much safer than my dentist and hygienist would do for me.

Here's one example.
Dentists don't tell you that teeth are living bones that gradually change and can heal with the proper building materials. They will tell you that tooth enamel never grows back. Then they are treated like dead furniture and given modification and repair. Only one dentist told me otherwise. He was a dental instructor/ professor who took the corner of a front tooth and used an epoxy to replace the chipped out portion. I bit down on a little stone in a Chinese restaurant entre. He did a great job. As the teeth slowly grow and wear, the repair was replaced below with real tooth. Since it was a thinner area of a front tooth, it was a good decision.

My teeth constantly grow or I would not have any teeth. Acids and wear removes it and certain minerals, namely silica, is used and converted to tooth enamel.
It's amazing how God made us. He gave us a certain variety of plant that's high in silica that works for many.

I went for my semiannual dental checkup and tooth cleaning. I've been doing the semiannual visits for over 20 years now. I've had the same dentist for the last 14 years, an immigrant from Ukraine. Obviously I've been very happy with her work. Everything went well during my visit, very glad I went. And I'm very glad I've been going twice a year, still have all my teeth at an advanced age and my mouth/gums are in excellant shape. I feel bad for those who don't go to the dentist on a regular basis, they'll be sorry in the long run.

Tell the truth ...who really likes going to the dentist?

If you do, what the is your secret to tolerating...the pain and the bills?

Is a gleaming white perfectly straight set of teeth essential and where do people get these or afford them if they are not fake?
I do my own dental work, within reason.
Years ago I chipped a tooth on a stone in some rice at the Chinese restaurant. The dentist replaced the portion that broke with an epoxy. No problems since. I learned that superficial surface cavities can be reversed and decay removed, enamel then refried with proper supplementation that I have found and hope to provide in the future for others. Please pray for me about that.

I've taken dental courses for personal applications. I've done dentistry on animals, from dogs and cats to big alligators.
Knowing what I do about dental health is refreshing. I dated a dental assistant and she showed my teeth off to her lady friends in the office. Not bragging, I just want any readers to know that knowledge and dental health DIY properly is more important than the 6 month routine visits. I'm not against going to a good biological dentist and hygienist IF they are good, but they will tell you that only you can keep your teeth in good shape. Of course we should seek the Lord in this as well as all areas of health. He designed us and we are wonderfully made.

I will post what a biological dentist said about fluoride in water. May this help us to see that the devil has his hands in EVERYTHING and we must take our health back as good stewards of our Lord's temple.

Knowing what to do about dental health is refreshing. You become less dependant upon another when establishing healthy habits based upon GOOD information.

A good one might see decay before you and you can work on nipping it in the bud. I use dental instruments like mirrors to do self exams. Of course it's not as easy as another.

Here's the organization that Dr Kennedy used to be president of.

If anyone wants to have the lead and mercury removed from their teeth at some point I will add this to the link.
Do NOT simply trust any dentist that is a member. This link has a membership, which is a good place to start. However, it may benefit you to check as many reviews as available. If a patient can be asked, they may tell you what procedures are used.
There are lots of dentists these days that remove the mercury lead amalgams. A small percentage do it safely and even then it's risky. Our fillings release lead and mercury constantly. That's not very comforting. However, a procedure has the potential of releasing a LOT of it in a small period of time. The body if unable to detox can be poisoned. Some people get neurological damage.
Just be forwarded, do your homework and the educated patient that exceeds what they teach about this at a typical dental college.
There's a lot of good information here, so if interested, it might be worth considering a bookmark. I would also get a copy of the Fluoride Deception. The information can help you change your families lives for the better. It's another Paul Wittenberger production..

For those of us who are Christians, our health is a gift from God and it is incumbent on us to be knowledgeable about what He provides us in terms of our health and the means to maintain our health. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.

That means we have a duty to try to remain in reasonable good health and one of the basic things is dental care. We have the basic means for maintaining good dental health - at the core, that's toothbrush (and toothpaste) and floss, which can be cheaply and easily obtained by anyone anywhere. Dental care is also within reach for most. As others have pointed out, there are insurance plans for about 50 bucks a month and it covers a lot of the expenses as well as a few cleanings (which you only need 2 to 4 a year).

But dental care is not simply for "a gleaming white perfectly straight set of teeth" as you frame it. You make it sound like it's something vain or egotistical. That is not what dental health is about; that is cosmetics. Dental health actually has a deep impact on your overall health. When you hear about plaque forming on your teeth which then leads to tooth decay (cavities and worse), that's not all... Dental plaque adds to the plaque (same thing) that's in your arteries and contributes to poor vascular and heart health. Maintaining dental health not only keeps your teeth healthy (even if not cosmetically or aesthetically "gleaming white and straight") but it ALSO helps you stay heart healthy, and that in turn affects the rest of your health, the rest of your organs, etc. And the totality of your health will affect your mental health as well.

So dental health is super important; more so because of the fact that as medical care goes it is the most accessible and "easy" form of car and is at the core of one's overall medical health. To shirk dentists and forsake dental health is foolish.

Fears of the dentist are very real; people should get help with this. It's no excuse to avoid dentists but I can understand why some do. Those people should be helped and encouraged to overcome the fear, but it should never be acceptable to forsake dental health with the attitude "Oh who needs straight white teeth anyway? it's just fanity!!!" No, it is self-care and God wants us to take care of ourselves and He provides us the means to do it, including dentists.

I don't really like going to the dentist, but I understand that I MUST do it! I only have one "set" of teeth and new ones will never grow back. There is nothing complicated really. If you haven't been to the dentist for a long time, then of course you will have to pay a large sum before you just go to him for routine checkups. And in addition to treatment, I'm talking about various toothbrushes, interchangeable heads for them, irrigators, mouth rinses, and much more. It's the same if you haven't done repairs in your house for a long time - you need to do it, but it will take a huge amount of time, and the same huge amount of money. And if you take care of your house and clean it often, then you will spend a minimum amount of money.

Mak33,

I will happily share what I have learned about this over the years. I just need the time to devote to that and do need to purchase the ability to PM. Since I was injured this Summer, I'm very frugal as I have no income until I can find my next job. If you will pray for that, I would be much appreciative.
When property taxes and necessities are covered, I'll have more time and ability to gladly serve our forum in those ways. This is one of my ministries, but lacks any funds right now.
Please put your question on your calendar and remind me of your question later in October. It's a skill that is easy enough for most to learn and aquire, but takes some time to teach and to learn. The benefits for me have been second to none.

📖🙂👍

Black Walnut powder and Oil pulling has helped our family tremendously.
Excellent!
It's hard to believe how much your family and I have in common. I harvest black walnuts for personal health benefits like this each year too!
Juglone has some wonderful benefits. Thank you for mentioning this, because I need to restart the habit of oil pulling again. I need to get some coconut oil ASAP.
