Is there anyone else that goes on here that dresses modest? Also, I have autism and I know I don't ask things the right way a lot of times but I hope I asked it the right way. I don't wear pants or jeans hardly ever and I have been made fun of about it sometimes.
For the times in which we now live, I view myself as dressing modestly for an adult man; however, I am confident that others would not share my concept of modesty for Adult men, especially during the intense heat and humidity of a southern summer.
I wear loose-fitting shorts that are knee level (sometimes below), and loose tee-shirts that are oversized by choice, as I love the extra room and loath form-fitting apparel. Often, one can catch me with compression socks that go up to the knee, but not usually at home as I work in the garden, greenhouse, or manicure the lawn. I enjoy the sun and the vitamin D-3 it provides, therefore I don tank tops and shed the socks to soak in the rays as I work with no embarrassment or conviction.

Church functions will, of course, require more appropriate and respectful attire as would any critical public appearance. I do not view shorts for men or women, to pants for that matter, as improper as long as they are not form-fitting or too revealing, due to the thought that the skins God clothed Adam and Eve could not have been a floor-length gown or robe in my imagination. I believe God hid, with the skins, what was necessary to hide, their nakedness..

Hi Jillian,

Modesty is beautiful to those whose eyes behold the finest things in life.
There will always be haters that pick on those who are different from them. That just reveals their insecurities and reminds them that they need to advertise to attract men. Guess what kind of men they get? The kind that are not marriage material.

I'm a guy and I find that a modest woman with a meek spirit is very special. If I were you, I would continue to be modest and when at home, wear what your man likes if you have a husband. If others out in public speak about you, just remember that you are living for the Lord Who loves and cares for you, not the backbiters who feel like they must criticize that which is wholesome.

-Have a blessed day-

You've answered your own question, and that was the concern the OP has also, and why she prefers not to wear jeans in case they highlight her femininity and cause someone to have impure thoughts. That's love in action.
ok yes I tried to think how to answer it but you said it perfect how I feel inside, thank you so much.

That's very brave of you to admit to that challenge. I've been around students, adults and teens with Asperger's and other diagnostic labels. I never would have guessed that you had a challenge in any way. Some of the most intelligent teens and those who make faster progress than most adults have been considered special needs by others. I've enjoyed working with these students as a fitness and martial arts instructor. It's been a blessing.

There are several sites that are bringing traditional womens clothing back in fashion. Full length or half length dresses etc Are you worried about peer pressure? Atm where I am, I was seeing a lot of young girls follow the Kardashion trends so Im used to youth dressing that way. However when I come across a young person wearing something that covers up or doesnt hug her body shape to death or not overdone with jewels or make up - it brings the attention to her face or the clothing rather than her body :)
There is a site that I like the clothing. When I find it I will post some examples.

it is not peer pressure it is just that a lot of people think I dress too old fashioned but its just how I was brought up and how I believe to dress that way.

Before you know it, the trends will change again and the last seasons style will be dated according to the culture norms. It's not like you look Amish in the avatar pic.
It's definitely easier to buy clothing, but making your own makes it personal, custom and feel good about wearing what you made.

I came close to buying a garment factory's machines and setting up my own company.
I had gone another direction, but in hindsight it likely would have been a good idea. I had designs that fit a niche market that would have become popular now.
You know what works for you better than others..Just the way you want.

Could be they wish they could dress as they like instead of the latest fad. Old fashioned will always be trending in my eyes. I love the vintage even retro look, and knowing how to sew the basics can take you a long way!

I finally found one of the fashion sites that I like, if you go to the pants section they have choices that are respectful and classy and still stylish. Otherwise there are many dresses that you might like those styles since you can sew.:)pants – SooLinen

There was a show on TV where contestants are paired together so they needed to be dressed nicely. I noticed the women strived to wear as little as possible and get away with it. They obviously thought that this is what men wanted (and maybe they do, a great, great majority of them anyways) Looking at them I just thought they looked cheap. I know women like to look nice, we enjoy our fashion but this was not nice, it was cheap. The definition of nice has become cheap. Aghh!!!

This is why I think old fashioned stlyles or modern but covered up styles are coming back in fashion. Female celebrities are wearing next to nothing for their fans and dictating street fashion but what is there after that? Would society accept nudity? I dont want to see what anyone had for breakfast!
