Iā€™ve been having a down time lately feeling heart broken and lonely. I feel like Iā€™m not good enough for anyone and canā€™t make anyone happy. I used to believe in soul mates but I just donā€™t think I do anymore. Anyone have any good verses I can read and study?
Thanks and I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Sorry you are feeling that way. I can relate.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
(Psalm 34:18 NIV)

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
(Psalm 43:5 NIV)

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
(Psalm 126:5 KJB)

Isaiah 41:9-10
I have called you back from the ends of the earth,
saying, ā€˜You are my servant.ā€™
For I have chosen you
and will not throw you away.
Donā€™t be afraid, for I am with you.
Donā€™t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 43: 1 - 4

But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
ā€œDo not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;
I gave Ethiopia[fn] and Seba in your place.
Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you.

The book of Psalms is usually an encouragement. There's all types of emotions and conflicts. David went through a lot of suffering and stress, yet encouraged himself in the Lord. I find myself empathizing with him and identifying at times.
In fact, I got some serious bad news today, so maybe I should open up to Psalms this evening and start reading too.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,ā€ declares the Lord, ā€œplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 ā€œCome to me,all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.ā€

Hi again Jennifer.
Circumstances are bad, but it makes me trust the Lord through a couple of impossible challenges that could be perilous.
He has shown His power many times in my life before. I can only do what I'm able, but trust Him for the outcome. Here's a passge that Jesus encouraged me with this morning. I thought it might be a blessing to you too.

John 16:31...

"Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Oof. So many people are where you are right now.

God does design soulmates for people, especially, I believe, His children. I can't think of any specific verses for you, but Zero Turbulence shared Psalm 43:5 which I think has a lot of latent encouraging power in it:

"Why are you downcast, oh my soul, and why so discouraged within me? Put your hope in God, for I will [eventually] praise Him for His saving help."

I've been heartbroken and lonely myself; but the heartbreak is all related to God and waiting on Him for promises that have not been realized for years. The loneliness is actually very recent and is related to finding a spouse. Thankfully, I usually very rarely experience the emotion of loneliness even when I'm alone (thankfully because it's a very powerful and, in my opinion, oppressive emotion). However, for the last month or so, I started feeling lonely which, to be honest, is upsetting.

Intuitively, I know God is good and wants to provide all our needs and many of our desires. I'm just awestruck, dumbfounded, and perplexed that He seems to rarely do so. God definitely wants to fulfill all your desires (ah, a Scripture just came to mind for you) and give you the desires of your heart; but I don't know why He doesn't provide people's needs and desires sooner rather than later (and sometimes never). I'll leave you with Psalm 20 (read the whole chapter when you can):

"May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; may He send you help from the sanctuary and strengthen you out of Zion. May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. May He grant you according to your heartā€™s desire and fulfill all your purpose."

Amen.
