Not on purpose, somethings wrong with my laptop, every time I open a game, my wifi disappears, rendering my laptop useless. I'm to lazy to take it to a technician, and to cheap to buy a new one. And I know I waste too much time (2-6 hours a day) playing video games anyways.

So my question is, now how do I spend time? I have been trying to stay busy by working out, and practicing piano/guitar, but I can only do that so long before it gets boring.

Any suggestions?

First of all, I don't know your life circumstances, so please don't jump to taking offense and go on the defensive at my response.

Right off the bat, what are you doing (or more accurately, not doing) in life that allows you to play video games up to six hours a day?

Next, life as a Christian is NOT about keeping busy, but making a difference in this world. Unless you live in a one horse town, I'm sure there are tons of places (your local church, crisis pregnancy center, food bank, homeless shelter, etc) that would kill for a volunteer to come in from 2 to six hours a day to help out.

I can do about an hour in before, and after work, and on Saturdays when I have no errands to run, I literally have nothing better to do. the thing is video games are my usual way to relax, and as rewarding as being a volunteer is (I've don it before) eventually it will start feeling like working a second job.
BUT!! I've been working on myself lately, and maybe the "New James" should look into volunteering at a local church
(kind of awkward seeing as I go to church in the next town over)

Well James, I'll tell you one thing that will NEVER be a waste of your time.
Reading your Bible, and spending time with the Lord.

I grew up gaming because I had brothers so I get it lol. If the other things mentioned already dont take your interest have you ever thought about taking young people under your wing and teaching them the skills you already have - fitness and musical. Throw in a little bit of God in there too :)

hi James94! i used to have a bad addiction to games which caused me to miss out on opportunities in life and even soured some relationships. yikes! well, what helped me was finding something equally or even more interesting than the games.
so i asked myself: what was it that drew me to the games? the people online, the history, the puzzles, the sense of adventure, what is it? and find the equal to it in person.
for adventure; spend more time outside. hike, travel, get some fresh air. history; well the Bible is history so reading that, reading theological books and watching documentaries on it really sparked an awe in me, and of course helped me to spend more time with God and His Word. and the list goes on.
maybe you can try something like this so it will gradually take your mind off of games and onto much more meaningful joys in life. God bless!

Though I do like kids, I don't think this is the answer to cure my boredom

The thing is I can do what ever I want in a video game. create worlds, destroy armies, go on adventures, all from the comfort of my room where I don't have to worry about real people, or what they want or do. I am trying to get out more, but I'm really just looking for tips on how to cut the chord so to speak

Lol this boredom problem you have...

I would start here:

1. they say you can read the Bible in as little as 10 min. a day. Imagine if you had more time like you do. Listen to the audio Bible or read it...it's good for the soul.

2. volunteer in an area of your passion. Homeless, hospital, school, church, fire fighter, animal shelter, etc.

3. try to start a side hustle to make some extra money. Tutor or teach an instrument.

4. Go hiking and find fun areas around you.

5. Get a pet (omg a puppy or kitty) so cute... but so much work. You have time though!

6. Remodel or landscape- research on YouTube and do it yourself to save money.

7. Learn to lucid dream- a very controversial topic in the online Christian world. But I only mention it bc it's like the ultimate virtual reality. Also it's as quick as a dream not hours of your day. 😆

I'm not a cat fan. They are the only pet that will walk from the litter box across the dining room table.

Hi, you may be able to fix the laptop with software updates. Sorry I don’t know a lot about your laptop, but just based off my experience it sounds like a software issue. Again, I don’t know much about your laptop based off of your post, but one thing you may consider is that the game you’re trying to play is blocked by your firewall and that it isn’t the Wi-Fi that turns off. I hope that helps a bit.

As far as I can tell my software is updated. but maybe it's "steams" fault, I've tried several different games and they all nuke my connectivity

I like DIY, so there's an idea.
I don't trust my self to use Lucid dreaming responsibly, so probably won't be doing that :/

waaay to ambitious, I was thinking more along the lines of cooking, or something
There is nothing more exiting than being used by God for eternal purposes. Find a church with lots of outreach ministries going on and get involved.

You can also enroll in an online Bible College like Global University and learn the bible like never before. It will help you be better at the most exiting adventure ever offered to mankind. The Great Commission. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature and behold I am with you unto the ends of the world.

Take the Gospel to the North Sentenilese Island. They shoot anyone who tries to talk to them with arrows. Go there fully decked out in tactial armor so that the arrows bounce off you. They might decide you are a god and worship you. That would be exciting, no?
