Gonna have a go at writing out the Bible by hand

I've already typed it out (took me two years and three months) so I thought the next logical(!) step would be to write it out by hand.

I can't decide whether to use separate sheets of paper or spiral-bound notebooks. Fountain pen, ballpoint, or pencil? Decisions, decisions...

I love that idea! Can I ask what did you do with the copy you typed out? If you were closer Id buy you a nice stationery set to start you on your way :)

It's still on my laptop. I thought about printing it off, but then I thought what's the point if I'm going to write it out anyway. Thanks for the offer, by the way :)

It would make a nice gift for someone close to you but then it would also take a lot of printing lol

In the type-out I used various translations (mainly NLT and NIV), so it's quite a unique document. But when I write it out by hand I might just go for the good old KJV

Do you ever read from the Berean Study Bible?

Or access sites such as Biblehub.com where you can compare multiple versions at once?

I'd never even heard of the Berean Bible until you mentioned it. Just had a quick look and it seems like a good translation

I tend to use Bible Gateway for translation comparisons. The Berean Bible seems not to be included there at the moment. Strange...

I used to use Biblegateway also, but prefer Biblehub because I do like the BSB :)

There is something very special about writing, it puts the subject in the mind in a very special way to be recalled later when needed.

Prezactly.

There was a reason why God commanded the king of Israel to write a copy of the law, and it wasn't just so the king would have his own personal copy.

The best, most Biblical teacher I have ever know was under the study of a man of God who said someday the bible might be banned, so he thought "i'll write my own copy!", as he did so the Word got into him to the point years later it would come out in situations where it was needed.
God is so very good, all the time.:unsure:(y):)

I think I would go for spiral bound and in ballpont pen, I know you can now get ballpoint pens that can erase in case you make a mistake (instead of using correction fluid)

seperate sheets you would need to bind to keep them together. If you mess up one sheet in a spiral notebook. you can just pull it out.

I've heard the Rabbis' who copy the OT will throw a page out that has any error and begin again. That's a plus for the pencil.

Well, I've bought some A5 lined notebooks and several ballpoint pens (blue ink), and I'll begin tomorrow

I plan to take my time by doing one chapter a day. A simple calculation tells me it should take three years and three months to complete :)
