The Missionary

You met one day His saving grace,
Your life forever commuted.
Your sentence placed upon another
Who joyfully substituted.
His Spirit took up residence
And began His purging chore,
But you knew deep down inside
His plan included more.
He melted away a hardened heart
And gave you one with care.
He burdened you with other's needs
That could only be met through prayer.
And, yet, inside despite all your joy
And increased knowledge of God's word,
Your heart remained unsettled
And your spirit ever stirred.
God wants you to leave your homeland
And go to a strange and distant place,
That you might share the gospel,
That these might know His grace.
You gladly go where God sends you
Never considering yourself.
Others question what you're doing,
But you can do nothing else.
God be praised for all His wonder
In spite of all earthly query.
God's kingdom is ever advanced
By His faithful missionary.

Great work!

God wants you to leave your homeland
And go to a strange and distant place,
That you might share the gospel,
That these might know His grace.

That may be just down the street, but still strange and distant.
