I recently, Jan 1, stopped taking an anti depressant med that I used only for the side effects of helping relieve my OA. ( The withdrawal from is a whole other can of worms) It's bad in my hands & back.

It seems as though now my whole hands are weak & are becoming useless to perform everyday tasks.

I use voltaren crm and wear wrist splints and compression gloves @ sleep.

Any suggestions & prayers are welcome !

Thanks,
Keturah

Blessings & many thanks !
no problem!
I am curious, I know pain can come and go but if you test it out, is there any discomfort left?

I am trying to grow in faith even for people to get healed online. oa seems very weak and without any reason to fear it

Praise Jesus Christ either way!

Thank you for your prayer of faith. My hands have felt better for several hours since. I was noticing when cooking that I couldn't even grasp the food properly to cut it.
I have trouble with small things all the time; fasteners, buttons, ect but to know my capabilities were limited to bigger things was / is distressing.

We build up our faith through the belief of the word and trusting God answers our request.

Blessings on increasing your faith.....keep praying, I KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHEN SOMEONE TOUCHED HIS HEART ON MY BEHALF.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE PRAYERS OF FAITH !

Stay tough buddy. IMO anti-depressants have devastating so-called "side effects" that are almost NEVER warned of by those dispensing them like candy. Its $$$big pharma$$$ business as usual.

It might take a while but being free is always worth the battle.

May I ask what medication you stopped taking. I have epilepsy and have to take some strong medication, or spend much of my day in a seizure. Most of the medications that I have taken over the past years have depression to some extent as a side effect. Two important things that I have learned over the years are to maintain the proper epilepsy drug level by taking my medication at the proper time, and to bring the drug level down and up at the same time. If you quit a medication for epilepsy or depression cold turkey, there will be side effects for weeks.

For me Zolof has managed my problems with epilepsy drug related depression quite well for well over thirty years. I do caution anyone (male or female) planing to have children, stop taking it before the pregnancy begins.

My wife has RA. She takes paqunil for it. When her joints hurt, she uses voltaren. When the pain gets really bad, she takes Tylenol. At last resort, she will take Hydro-codon.

We will pray for your relief from the pain and depression.

Hello Sister (@ketura), I am very sorry to hear about the weakness and disability (and I am assuming pain as well) that you are experiencing right now (your doctor(s) know about it, yes?).

Praying for you.............

Yes it was cymbalta.
It was great for the pain.
I do not have a diagnosis of depression.

When I decided to stop all meds ( as we know Drs. dispense them like candy for big pharma) that were not vital to the absolute running of my body, this Head med was on the hit list.

The withdrawal was so harsh during that first month....it was supposed to be a non- addictive med, all I wanted to do was harm others.

I was hostile ,aggressive, hard, harsh, hateful, easily irritated; get the picture !

These meds mess with serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain even though they are supposedly " not addictive".

How my family did not hire a " hit man" for me is beyond me .....lol.

I'm finding since that I may be a likeable person after all.

I'm glad that you are doing well.

You paid a price for cold turkey medication withdrawal. I hope anyone here who decides to stop taking a medication on their own, especially those that require a level of medication to work properly, will learn from your experience. Go off it by reducing the amount they are taking gradually over a period of time (at least a couple of weeks). This minimizes the shock to the neurological system. The best way to discontinue a regular medication is to follow your doctor's instructions.

We will continue to pray for your healing.

I’m praying for God’s healing touch and comfort upon you. May you receive total healing and wholeness in the name of Jesus.
