She stood under the shed after being seriously drenched by the rain, shivering and waiting for the rain to stop, she placed both palms on her protruding stomach and tears formed in her eyes. She wondered how long she would go through life like this. Still lost in her thoughts, she heard the honk of a car which jolted her back to reality. The car stopped close to the shed she stood in and she wondered who it was; when the window attached to the door of the car was wound down and she realised who it was, she got upset.
What's up Jane? Even in the rain and darkness your beauty still glows in case you are wondering how I knew you were the one standing there. She watched him silently as he spoke, clearly upset. Wale please what do you want? He laughed. Come on Jane, isn't it obvious that I came to save a beautiful damsel in distress. You can't afford to catch a cold now can you? Come on dear hop in. She shook her head as she spoke…. You're still so full of yourself. Come on now Jane, this isn't pride this is care speaking or should I just come and carry you so you won't go through the stress of walking. She kept on staring at him as he spoke not quite moving. He came out of the car with an umbrella, walked towards the shed she stood in, and made to hold her. You wouldn't dare Wale, seriously you won't .
Come on Jane, I can't believe you're still so stubborn and adamant even in your present state. It's been three months since he travelled right? Three good months; yes I heard. News flies around you know. What responsible man leaves his pregnant wife alone for three months without adequate sustenance? Wale please… Oh please! don't try to support him. I know I had my flaws and messed up but Josh? Josh of all the guys on campus back then? I wondered what exactly the future held for him whenever I saw him with his big Bible back then. Yes, he was making excellent grades but I knew he would find it difficult to make it in this world. He acted like he was the only christian on this Earth….I can't do this, I can't do that, my faith doesn't support this blah blah blah… And then you woke up one morning, dialed my number and told me you were going to break up with me because you had given your life to Christ; and as if breaking up with me and living like a christian mother was not enough, you went ahead and married him. I begged you to give me another chance but what did you tell me? That he was God's will for you….I can really see that now. I just pray he comes back to you whole, seriously I pray so, since he's now an angel now without flesh and blood right?

She slid to the floor slowly as he spoke and broke into body wracking sobs. Oh God she cried, how long? how long will things continue like this? Her family had washed their hands off a lot of things concerning her since she became a believer. Josh's only close relative was his elder sister who was now a widow. She didn't even have the heart to ask her for any form of assistance knowing she was struggling to take care of herself and the children. She had been paid just twice in four months and the money Josh left with her had been exhausted. She had been trusting God for provision and he had been providing but she needed more….She had not been able to reach Josh two weeks after he travelled up until the present time; she was so tired of the whole situation.
She was still sobbing when she felt Wale's arm around her as he squatted close to her and brought her head gently to his chest; she felt too exhausted to protest. It felt so good to be held by someone again she thought. I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you earlier Jane, I was just so upset. Why don't you pack your belongings and come stay at my place? No man who truly loves his wife will leave her in this state like this. Allow me love you Jane, let me take care of you and your unborn child, let me lighten your burden….I love you so much Jane.

His words were like a balm to her soul. She leaned into his embrace and closed her eyes; as she did, she saw the face of her husband. She jolted out of his embrace and stood up immediately, almost tripping as she did. What was she thinking? Distance was not supposed to be a barrier to she and her husband. He loved her very much, she knew it, and was very certain of it. She was going to wait for him while praying and trusting God for his return. It wasn't going to be easy, that she knew, but giving in to Wale was not an option. God had joined her and Josh, and nothing, not even Wale's mouth watering promises was going to put them asunder .

She stared pointedly at Wale who was still looking at her, confused at her sudden reaction. I'm sorry about what just happened now, I love my husband too much to cheat on him. Let whatever happened between you and I stay in the past where it belongs... I'll walk home, thanks, and with that, she came out from the shed she had been standing in, walked into the rain, and with a smile on her face, headed for her apartment.

Her husband returned a week later. He had been mistaken for someone else, a criminal to be precise where he travelled to, but God had caused everything to work together for his good and he had returned with an abundance of rain...

Dear you,
This is one of the challenges a christian might face in his/her walk with God; but remember that 'God's silence does not mean not His absence.' He's still there somewhere...He doesn't do the moving, actually we are the ones who do the moving.

Don't Quit on God beloved, He's still there, and even in the darkness His light can still shine.
Never…ever…go back to the things you left behind because of how difficult life is at this point for you.
God loves you beloved, and it is just a matter of time, He will come and save you❤️

Isaiah 35:4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come...
he will come and save you.

Hi.

You said, "Don't ever go back to the things you left behind, no matter how difficult. God will always come through for you."

Well, a long time ago I was in torment due to some very wrong treatment by other people, and one fateful morning, I DID go back to the thing I had left behind.

Six months later, I sought forgiveness from Jesus, but He refused to set me free from that thing a second time, and instead He seemed to condemn me. That day I decided to destroy myself, and effectively I did. I have never recovered. It has been 16 years. I have never been able to get right with God since.
