R.I.P. James William Ercolani known by his stage name James Darren; June 8, 1936 to September 2, 2024


During the late 1950s and early 1960s, James Darren had notable starring and supporting roles in films including the youth and beach-culture film Gidget (1959) and its sequels. He also appeared in the The Gene Krupa Story (1959), All the Young Men (1960), The Guns of Navarone (1961), and Diamond Head (1962). As a teen pop singer, he sang hit singles including "Goodbye Cruel World" in 1961 [video above]. He later became more active in television, starring as Dr. Anthony Newman in the science fiction series The Time Tunnel (1966–1967). He had the regular role of Officer James Corrigan in the police drama T. J. Hooker (1983–1986) and performed as Vic Fontaine, a recurring role in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1998–1999). He was caricatured as teen idol "Jimmy Darrock" on an episode of The Flintstones, and was the singing voice of Yogi Bear in the 1964 theatrical feature, Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! Sourced from wiki

R.I.P. Quincy Jones, March 14, 1933 - November 3, 2024 (aged 91)


"It's My Party" is a song by American singer Lesley Gore from her debut studio album I'll Cry If I Want To (1963).
It was released as the lead single from the album on April 5, 1963, by Mercury Records. The song was collectively
written by Herb Wiener, John Gluck Jr., and Wally Gold, while production was helmed by Quincy Jones.

Randy Meisner, bassist and founding member of the Eagles who wrote and sang “Take it to the Limit.,”
(March 8, 1946 – July 26, 2023.) Meisner contributed to some of the most iconic songs from the
Eagles, including “Try and Love Again” and “Take it to the Limit,” and is credited for his work on
albums including “Eagles,” “Desperado,” “On The Border,” “One of These Nights,” and “Hotel California.”
Randy Meisner was a member of the Eagles from 1972 to 1977. He was eventually replaced by
Timothy B. Schmidt, the same guy who replaced him in Poco some ten years earlier.


He died from complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) @ age 77.

"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone (1973)

Breaking records as the first song by an all-Native American and Mexican-American band to enter
the Billboard Top 10, this song and band combined disco with politics, bringing attention to
native artists and the idea that what you believe is greater than who and where you come from.


The song was originally released as a promo track under the name "Hail" and was later featured on their fifth
album, Wovoka (1973), under its current name. The song was released as the album's first single the following
year. Written and produced by band members Pat and Lolly Vegas, it is one of the band's most successful singles.
