I had a conversation with my younger brother today regarding Christianity, and he had a lot of questions that we talked about, regarding sin, hell, the fall, and free will. I could tell he was seeking. He doesn't understand why God allowed for sin to exist and why people who do not accept Jesus go to hell. He also doesn't understand what moral law constitutes good, and thinks it's subjective. But he doesn't believe that Heaven and Hell are real places. We discussed all of these things. I talked with him using all the relevant knowledge of the Word that I have. He seemed to be open to letting the Word guide his thoughts on these matters.

Then later I overheard him talking to my older brother about our conversation, that I thought was a real breakthrough. But instead I overheard them basically mutually denying that Heaven and Hell are real places, and asserting basically that I readily accept too much regarding revelation (as in the revelations in the Book of Revelations, as well as personal revelations), basically acting as if what I'd said was insanity, mockingly. I even heard my older brother say he had a hard time believing in the historical existence of Jesus. He also said he doesn't understand the nature of God.

All of this worries me (not to mention hurt me initially, since I thought a connection was made).

Please pray that my younger brother continues to seek God and Jesus with a more open mind to revelation, and that he receives clarity on the matters he is unsure about.

Please also pray that my older brother seeks answers to his question of the historical accuracy of Jesus, as there are many sources available to show him the evidence if he truly seeks to know. Also that he comes to a better understanding of God.

And finally, please pray that they do not mock anyone else who is speaking the Word, as that would be mocking the Word.

being that your brother is so young, it takes a while for him to develop a mature spirit. Right now, he may try to figure things out based on human logic, which is why he is confused. The fact that you opened the spiritual door for him is great. Don't be too hard on him. I am sure he will probably go back and forth between belief and disbelief but that's all part of the walk of life. Maybe encourage him to attend a few bible studies or some sort of Christian volunteer work.

God, I ask that you guide MM's brother into your kingdom and keep him close to you as he takes on the stresses and struggles of the world. Please show him that Your Son is the path to peace and to always remember what He went through on the cross for him and us all. All in Jesus' name, Amen.

Take care bro...

Dear Father

Please help our sister MM to continue to be a shining light in her family. Help the seeds she planted in her brother take root and grow into a connection with You. Help her older brother to also start to seek to know more about Jesus and do some searching on his own. Father we pray for all who do not know you that Christians would cross their paths and the gospel will spread like wild fire throughout the world. I thank you for MM and her willingness to share. Give her others to share the love of Jesus with and send the Holy Spirit to her to dwell in her heart and make her a mighty worker for You in Jesus Name Amen.

He needs to be born again. A natural man cannot discern spiritual things because they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2:14)... so he cannot have understanding (especially of Revelation which is a very spiritual book!) until being born again. So dont expect more than he can give right now, and dont wonder because he has this blindfold, is what I'm saying, until he is born again the truth will look like foolishness to him.
The fact that he is asking is a very good thing and shows God is at work and poking on the inside, even through his rebellion. (Kind of reminds me of myself in teenage days. I was an unbeliever and yet of non-compulsory subjects I chose Catechism/Religious Edu... and you bet I always had a lot of questions!)
Praying that he gets to know and understand the salvation and ways of God very soon.
