I will pray for you brother. Nothing is too big for our Lord to handle, absolutely nothing. Remember, when you stumble and have trouble carrying on, God's love and mercy and grace will carry you through whatever storm you are facing, even this one. Keep your heart on Christ, He will help you over come this depression :)

I think that therapy is a wonderful tool, but to be a good therapist you have to learn to deal with your own issues first- and although I have a heart to help people in the future I found that some of the work I did brought up stuff that was unresolved. within my own life. Therefore I decided to take a year out to sort through, process and bring these issues before the Lord. Some of the issues were deeper than I imagined, things I felt that were resolved, but when I understood the way that these issues were still affecting me it became apparent that I had been suppressing them. The good thing is unlike some of the different modalities used to cope with issues, we have a loving Father in heaven that we can bring them to. God is capable of releasing, healing and delivering us of them once and for all. Why struggle with things when there is a deeper work that can only be accomplished by the king of kings, who hold all authority on heaven and earth and is capable of not only dealing with the issues but also filling those area with joy and peace.

I have been dealing with depression for some years, too. And I think the Devil knows that is my weakest spot and he uses it for what it is worth.

Seek God and the joy you have in Jesus. It sounds so simple, but God is the best medicine. I also go to therapy, but it is the work you do alone and with the Lord that will bring you forward and out of the darkness.

I will pray for you.

Hi VOH...I have been where you are in depression, it was part of the mental illness I had for over 30 years before I was saved by the grace of God...One thing I have noticed since God saved me 2 years ago is that all sins from my past that I have repented for, the devil every now and then will bring one up and throw me into despair, it will cause my mind to go back to that sin and make me believe that it is still deep rooted and I have not confessed it properly to God ...

The truth of the matter is, I have now become aware of this trap, and I thank God for reminding me that I have been washed by the blood of our LORD Jesus Christ...These dark memories of ours are remembered no more by God, like toinena said below, when we are weak in this area of depression, the devil will find the crack and zoom in...

We must lift up our shield and fight against the arrows of the wicked one, we do not have to go searching for anything deep rooted unless it is God leading us to search ourselves , God is our Father of Light, dont go over what you have already revealed to our LORD, keep on keeping on forward, there is nothing behind you that is any use to you, for you are a new creation in Christ :)...xox...

Medically, a vitamin d deficiency will cause depression, if one is indoors most of the time.

I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles, friend. I know it’s not easy to go through depression. It’s a very complex issue that deserves personal and in-depth attention. Be assured that I’ll be praying for you, asking the Lord to reveal His healing presence to you in a special and powerful way, filling you with His love, peace, and strength in the days ahead. Remember that He is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7). Stay strong in Him. Blessings!
