The "Leaver's Ceremony/Graduation" for our high school is on Wednesday.
Three events occur.
One is a presentation of all the graduates throughout their time at the school. Stuff they have done etc.
The second event is where students (and teachers) perform an act. Magic, music, poetry etc.
The third and final event is an awards ceremony. It is where pupils receive awards for stuff they have done throughout the year/semester. Best in English etc.
I will be on that presentation. I am graduating this year.
I will also be performing an act. I will be playing 'Fast Car' by Tracy Chapman on guitar. I may also be singing the song too.
I already know that I will be receiving certain awards when they are announced on the day. I don't know about other awards.
Prayer points:
Pray that I don't screw up during my act. I want to give everyone something to remember, but I don't want it to be me screwing up.
Pray for the teachers and the rest of the staff team. I have been at this school since the new building was built (three years ago) and we have been through a lot. It feels like them three years have went by far too quickly. It's like yesterday I was joining the school community. And now I'm graduating. I wouldn't be graduating if it wasn't for the teachers and their colleagues.
Also, pray that I can get filmed performing. People have asked me to get someone to film it. Also, I would upload the video onto my Youtube channel. Then more people can see it.
I know that next week will be an emotional one. For everyone. Including me. It feels like I'm leaving home in a way. I have been there for three years and, over the years, it feels like the school community has become my home and family. I have looked out for the female members of staff because they are verbally (and sometimes physically) abused on a regular basis by the other pupils.
I was even put into a situation where I had to help a teacher break up a fight (there was only one teacher on scene) by dragging one of the boys away from the other. The school advise against it. I also could of been arrested for it (I am not lawfully or legally authorised to restrain a pupil). But the headteacher didn't get the police involved. He instead said; "well done" and "thanks" (still trying to remember if he did say thanks lol).
If I had the choice, I would travel back in time and go through high school again. It really is the best experience you will ever have in your life.
Thank you for your prayers. I will tell you all about what happened on Wednesday.
With love. GBU.
