friends, i ask for your prayers.

some of you know our 29 yo son had a massive brain bleed at 19. the neurologists and neurosurgeons said if he remained asymptomatic for 10 years, he was in the clear. the 10 year mark was last February.

last week his new doctor wanted Jay to have another MRI, just to be prudent. his brain is still bleeding, very small amounts from time to time. he has to go back to the specialists, and may need surgery. he has no symptoms at present. the last MRI he had done, 7 years ago, didn't show any trouble.

Jay belongs to the Lord, and if you would pray as God leads you, i will be forever in your debt. thank you!

I will definitely be praying for your son and for your family. This is nothing too great for our Lord to handle! Any news that is not bad news is a blessing, and hopefully with no symptoms, he's getting to a healthy point where surgery may not be needed :) God bless and God love you and your family :)

he was able to schedule an appointment with the neurologist he liked best in '07.
this man gave him the truth with no bark on it, and J appreciated that.

Nov 28, and may God be glorified.

I pray for God's will and desire by done in your son's life and that the bleeding stops permanently with no serious effects or complications. Your son Jay does indeed belong to the Lord and He will take good care of him and oversee his treatment. God bless you for being such a good mother and wife.

i wanted to give you an update. (moms love the updates, lol)

Jay saw his neurosurgeon yesterday. Dr, Cho said he believes there were two things going on 10 years ago, an arteriovenous malformation, which caused the significant bleed, and a cavernous malformation (capillaries) that's still there, and leaking small amounts of blood. the entire area of his frontal lobe is weak, both from the original hemorrhage and the cranial cavernous malformation, so there will be leaking of blood.

the doc considers it unlikely there will be another significant bleed, and says the area of the brain is too deep to attempt surgery, given a risk-benefit analysis. so Jay will have to have an annual MRI unless he experiences any more neurological deficits like he did when he was 19. (he was paralyzed on the left side of his body for a while.)
it's unlikely this will become life-threatening again, thank God!

Jay will have to adjust to this, but other than no skydiving, bungee jumping or contact sports, he has no restrictions on living his life. of course, he's disappointed about the skydiving, but his mother isn't. lol

thank you all so very much for praying. God has been very good to us. :)
