Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

Agree completely, but just for clarification: I don't think that anybody is suggesting that homosexuality is not a sin. Generally I think we're discussing how to deal with it as a community. People are quick to throw stones, even though Jesus told us not to.

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

I never said it was. The user said: "One can apply several terms to mental aberrations, including these as well as perversions, sickness, disability. etc. It makes no different. They all arise from the sin nature and that is why Jesus said "Ye MUST be born again!" "

I'm sorry, are you suggesting that people with disabilities are sinful because they're disabled?!

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

A thread may go off on tangents or move on to something that wasn't mentioned in the original post. This is sometimes the natural course of discussion. On the other hand, an attempt to derail the thread because a subset of users simply don't want the topic to be discussed would warrant...

I don't wish to take anything up with the moderation team. I'm sure they would step in if they felt they need to.

So you're telling me that this forum is not properly or fairly moderated?

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

Just remember that the people at your local Church do not hold the key to salvation. They do not decide who gets it and who doesn't. I know I'm a fine one to talk myself as I've had unrelated experiences that have tested me and interfered with my faith, but keep your eyes on Jesus. Don't worry...

I see. Thank you for your kind explanation, I now understand what was meant, whereas I did not before.

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

I'm not starting threads to start arguments at all. Some of my threads are genuine questions which I don't know the answer to while others are designed to challenge existing dogma. But it's OK, if you'd rather make it personal with me now, so be it. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

By the sounds of it @Mark47Oz has struggled with his sexuality for many years and has repeatedly asked for help with this from both the Church and Jesus Himself. See his previous posts. So would you say that he is "doing his best to live sin free" or are you accusing him of "living in sin" (see...

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

Hey, how come everyone has stopped commenting now that a gay person has come among us? Where is all the "guidance in love"?

    Religion versers the law.

I've honestly tried to understand what you mean @de-emerald Do you mean how religion and traditions are the 'fluff' around the core belief, and how some people get so caught up in all this 'fluff' (traditions, ceremonies, etc) that they forget about the fundamental belief? If this is what you...

Unconditional love and the church's approach to homosexuality

Allow me to provide a translation from Christianese to English: "We don't hate you. We can't hate you; we are taught to love even our enemies" "But yes, I kind of hate you". "And here's what you need to do to change". "Ask Jesus to help you change". "If you really want to be part of...
