You seemed to imply in a previous post that we should only believe things that we can directly observe. I made the point that I wasn't around to directly observe the holocaust:

I see time and time again people applying reason and logic to their life outside the Church, only to turn it all backwards when discussing their faith. One guy I knew, who (ironically) is a financial advisor, basically thought that it didn't matter that the Church was running out of money...

I think you're right. Then again some of the new age 'churches' are like that. Look at C3 and Hillsong for instance; big on pomp and ceremony (albeit a different kind of ceremony), but very Bible light. But hey, that's a whole different discussion!

Interesting. By all means a theory can be incomplete, however the reason you have the lifestyle you have today is because of science.

OK, let's work with this. Going back to the example of Newton's laws of motion, were they true before Newton came up with them? Are they considered true now....?

What do you mean when you use the term "just a theory". Can you tell me exactly what you think a theory is.
