Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I agree, it’s totally our point of view. It’s crazy we can read the same words and get something different. So I thought about a couple of things. Trying to not focus on words in passages but the overall thinking. Here is one thing I was thinking about. I have forgotten the other one for...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

You're right, we're going in circles. While I was away I've been chewing on this and have a couple of ideas. While I get that put together, how about a different subject but is somewhat related. You actually mention it in this post. I'm unaware of baptism being "baptism of the spirit". I...

God's ONE Baptism For His Body!

I'm sorry but you haven't proved it. You say it but I see no proof. Post #178

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

This is how I understand how God chooses and it's in line with Him being a righteous judge and showing no partiality. For Romans, in the first 11 chapters Paul is talking to the Jews who are struggling with being God's chosen(by birth) and now no longer being God's chosen based on their...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

If I understand you correctly, you say our faith is really Christ's faith. Hearing and believing God's word does not produce faith in us. So our word study, which I'm not great at, is trying to help resolve where does faith come from. Jesus giving it to us or it's our faith that comes from...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I'm sorry but that doesn't answer the question. The chosen Jesus saves were no more deserving than those He did not chose. That is still showing partiality. Maybe you could phrase it another way?

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I think our current line of discussion "should" resolve this. Or not. :)

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

You are correct. We are all sinners and we all deserve to be punished. Since we all deserve punishment and God is a righteous and just judge, where is the justice in showing partiality by punishing those that deserve punishment and then sparing a chosen few who deserve the same punishment?

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I did read your post #7264, that's what I was responding to. I think the "we don't have to do anything" all comes down to a root question I ask post #7270.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I'll comment on the rest later but this stuck out to me. What do you mean by this and how does God choose? who's in and who's out?

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Maybe I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "faith of Christ". Could you please clarify. I agree 100% it starts and ends with Christ but we have to do something If it's ALL Jesus and none of us everyone is saved. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 Who will...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Thanks for this debate. I know it's not easy to do your best to get someone to see to no avail. Due to your comments at the end I'd like to start by stating how I currently understand things. I agree faith can only come from God. How does it come. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing...

    How can this be?

Great question, how can this be? It shouldn't but Satan is doing to us today what he did to Eve. The first thing I see is everyone calls themselves by something different to set themselves apart. Christ is not divided. Paul makes that clear. He is the head of the church. He purchased the...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Thanks for the long well thought out reply. In an effort to make it easier on both of us, I will try to focus on the root disagreement if that's ok with you. I will use your comments on Galatians as the root. I agree with this part. This is the part I disagree with. I don't see those who...

God's ONE Baptism For His Body!

May I suggest doing a bible search for "baptism of the Holy Spirit" . You won't find it. The one baptism is water baptism.

God's ONE Baptism For His Body!

May I suggest you misunderstand this verse. In doing so you see spiritual baptism when it is not spiritual baptism. There is no such thing as spiritual baptism. Could you please provide scriptural proof of spiritual baptism? Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:3-4 and Eph. 4:5 are not...

    Sunday Worship?

If I understand you correctly, I agree. I'm not sure how you see this but when Paul talks about the law being added, it was added to the promise. The promise was a covenant between God, Abraham and Jesus. The sign of that covenant was circumcision.

Was Jesus a rich or poor man, when on earth?

Correct. Jesus doesn't need to pay the tax. I suggest the "not cause offense" was paying the tax not where He got the money. I guess we should define from what perspective. Yes, if we look at who Jesus truly is, then everything is His. Every cow on every hill. Even the hills are His. I...

Was Jesus a rich or poor man, when on earth?

He was poor but not totally destitute. When He needed money to pay the temple tax, He got it out of a fish's mouth.

    Sunday Worship?

The 10 commandments are like a table of contents for the old law. I suggest the old covenant is the old law. This verse should make it clear it was referred to as a covenant. Heb. 8:8 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house...
