Your Environment Is Cleaner. Your Immune System Has Never Been So Unprepared - NY Times

As with so many things in life I think its about finding the right balance. The sadly ironic part, if this ends up being true....those who are otherwise younger and healthy, but nonetheless hyper worried about coming in contact with coronavirus....staying inside as much as humanly possible...

Your Environment Is Cleaner. Your Immune System Has Never Been So Unprepared - NY Times

I put this out there because I know a lot of people are doing their best to be informed. Eleventh_Hour shared a video of two California doctors that has since been removed by youtube, thankfully its still available on at least one other platform. One of the points they addressed is how to...

The Predicted Coronavirus Catastrophe Hasn’t Arrived In Sweden. What’s Next? -Forbes-

I saw that video, and while it certainly caters to my bias I don't know who these Doctors are Dr Dan Erikson and Dr Artin Massihi. I've learned long ago that fact checking is always important, but never more so than when its information with which you agree. I'm finding a lot of blowback...

The Predicted Coronavirus Catastrophe Hasn’t Arrived In Sweden. What’s Next? -Forbes-

In Canada province of Quebec last week there were 40 odd long term care homes that were deemed critical, now that number is nearing 100. If one were to draw a cause and effect relationship between closing schools and LTC facilities one might reasonably argue that closing schools causes LTC to...

The Predicted Coronavirus Catastrophe Hasn’t Arrived In Sweden. What’s Next? -Forbes-

If you're reading this EleventhHour aka EH, I've taken you off ignore, or block or whatever the term is. I know we disagree, and that's fine.....we have differing priorities, one is neither right or wrong. In Canada even our medical professionals cannot agree, Quebec is listening to the best...

The Predicted Coronavirus Catastrophe Hasn’t Arrived In Sweden. What’s Next? -Forbes-

There is still some debate about whether or not herd immunity works....testing is showing that people who have been infected once are getting infected again. If neither infection results in any real illness then maybe antibodies aren't needed....why would the immune system need to develop a...

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

Death is a part of life, and this coronavirus is turning into the mouse that roared....that's a little unfair, its not a mouse....but its not a ravaging lion either. A response needs to be proportionate to the threat....and take away the "fear porn" media with their hyperbolic headlines, and...

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

You need radomized sampling, if you don't like Facebook as a recruitment tool what would you suggest....science isn't about a vote, its about evidence. As for infection rates, they've done testing on people who've had a confirmed case of the virus and found no antibodies....so equating an...

Church holds drive-in service, now facing fines - Is this really about safety

Here's the link: https://globalnews.ca/news/6870396/coronavirus-aylmer-church-drive-in/ Someone please explain to me how this is all supposed to be about keeping people safe. Families in their cars, windows all rolled up....listening to their pastor broadcast over a short range FM circuit...

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

If you have no underlying health conditions, and a robust immune system....then it seems to me that, based on what we know thus far, that you should be fine. Others however are not as fortunate.

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

While I can agree with a lot of what you say I would make one exception, anyone 60+ and/or those with condidtions like diabetes, asthma or any others that increase the risk of death, they should not being out working...and gov't (us) should be subsidising them.

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

There is an old line about the difference between a recession and a depression....a recession is when your neighbor loses a job, a depression is when you lose your job. Even during the Great Depression unemployment levels reached about 25%, which means 75% of people were still working. I...

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

I have a hard time thinking of Christianity Today, given its ardent pro-life stance, as Liberal.....I simply consider the publication to be Christian. The numbers I'm seeing in Canada suggest that of identified cases only 2-4% are listed as serious, including some critial. And with all the...

Are lockdown measures inviting a tsunami of death and destruction?

Now with data coming out of NYC, California and other places by researchers at esteemed colleges and universities like Stanford, USC and Oxford among others...that the overall mortality rate is less than 0.5% and possibly as low as 0.1% which would put it on par with the seasonal flu at the low...

This Corona virus pandemic could be the weapon that takes our liberties away , all in the name of saving lives?

As a Canadian I always look forward to summer....we just got some snow earlier this week, it didn't stick around and its not unusual in April...but its still annoying because we also get lots of days kicking up over 50 deg F. I just published this to my blog, which had been lying dormant for...

This Corona virus pandemic could be the weapon that takes our liberties away , all in the name of saving lives?

Every flu season people undergoing chemotherapy as treatment for cancer.....this whole social distancing thing is nothing new. Chemo hammers the body's immune system and people are incredibly at risk from viral infections like seasonal flu. Someone undergoing chemo is urged to avoid large...

This Corona virus pandemic could be the weapon that takes our liberties away , all in the name of saving lives?

Just because the broader mortality rate might be increidbly low (.1 to .342%) that doesn't mean that's the risk for everyone. For an otherwise healthy 20 something it might not even be as high as .1%....it might be less than half of that. But for a 70+ year old with cardiovascular disease it...

This Corona virus pandemic could be the weapon that takes our liberties away , all in the name of saving lives?

Here are just some thoughts rambling around in my addled little human brain. While I'm hoping that indications coming out from mass testing like has been done in selected places (like LA County as linked in my previous post) prove to be broadly on the money....meaning that basically 98% of...
