    Someone is in Big Trouble

See post #123 above. Some say the NT is basically a commentary on the OT. At least the OT has been proven 'tamper-proof'.

...and that has already been dealt with...'adding vs omitting'.

    Someone is in Big Trouble

I'm not at the point of giving that verdict. I do agree it is a serious offense, especially if done deliberately,

    Someone is in Big Trouble

That's true, so the textual 'experts' have their system of analyzing, comparing and combing over the tons of manuscript evidence to come up with the closest to the originals. Consequently their conclusions end them up in those two camps. (Majority vs Critical).

I'll let God decide, after all, He gave the warning.

    Someone is in Big Trouble

True, but when in political power they can make some truly anti biblical decisions.

    Someone is in Big Trouble

Yes, but until the 'scholars' are unanimous in their verdict, I'll just go along with the title of this thread, "Someone is in Big Trouble".

    Someone is in Big Trouble

Both sides make good points but until the originals show up the debate goes on. Personally, I lean towards a KJVP position (King James Version (is) Preferable), not because of the speculative manuscript theories but after comparing the omissions and additions, and with my previous knowledge of...

Let me help... For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is...

That's exactly right, but how do you reconcile that with Matt 25 (the sheep and goats)?

    Someone is in Big Trouble

There are different schools of thought on the different bodies of text. Some say 'older is more reliable' and others say 'the majority rules', but that isn't what this thread is about...or is it?

    Someone is in Big Trouble

Oh please, I at least know enough about manuscript evidence that we have fragments and partial codices from the 2nd century.

No, you are just confused about which judgment belongs to the Church and which belongs to the Nations.

Research: Majority of Americans Believe Works Are the Key to Salvation

You mean it's only for those who believe the Gospel. We are not saved by His teaching, we are saved by His death for our sins and His resurrection... Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye...

Research: Majority of Americans Believe Works Are the Key to Salvation

Do you believe this? Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be...

Isn't Buddhism, by nature a religion of 'do this, and you will be rewarded'? whereas the Christian faith has the offer of eternal life as a free gift.

Exactly, that's why God's words, no matter how small, are important.
