    Catholic Heresy (for the record)

Ok, what made you think he had everlasting life? He might have eaten from the tree of life in heaven if it's there, but he might have died in heaven.

    Catholic Heresy (for the record)

I don't really know anything about Enoch.

    Catholic Heresy (for the record)

Well, maybe not evident, but reasonable enough for someone to think that. I might not know how to put it.

    Catholic Heresy (for the record)

If it helps: John 3:16-18 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18...

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Ok, 1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV) says, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" and elsewhere in the New Testament it says that the elect were chosen according to the...

    The Son in Biblical Terminology

Unless I'm mistaken I've always looked at God like this: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Three persons, but all God. I think that God can often refer to the Father though.

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Oh, ok, it says confound not overturn, I guess that might be a lot different.

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Well he loves them enough to let them do whatever they want, and then some people he chooses according to foreknowledge. Like I said I think it says somewhere in the New Testament that people are chosen because of their lowly position to sort of overturn the wise, but again I might be way off. I...

I don't know what you're talking about to be honest.

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Ok, well like I said, I think it says the elect were chosen by the foreknowledge of God, so I don't know if he just liked certain people more than other people.

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

I think it might be because of God's foreknowledge about everything. Also if I'm not mistaken I think it says somewhere in the New Testament that people are saved by God because of their lowly position to humble the high or make futile the wise or something so that no charge can be brought...

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Romans 8:29-33 King James Version 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he...

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

The elect were chosen according to the foreknowledge of God, unless I'm mistaken. So I guess maybe it's like, God knew how things were going to turn out and these people were definitely going to be who he would draw to his Son and they were chosen in that sense. I'm sort of just speculating here...

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

I mean I'm not entirely sure by what you mean by elect, but I assume they are those who were foreknown by God. Why?

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

I'm just going to repost what I posted earlier since it seems like this is where the thread is going. ----- Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of the world and Isaiah 53 says the chastisement of our peace was upon him, but Jesus says anyone who learns of the Father will come to him and...

If that's what it says I don't know if it's wise to read beyond it.
