Do you have to believe Jesus rose from the dead specifically on the third day to be saved?

It's just the detail of it being three days that gives me trouble. I've had trouble with things like this in the past if I'm not mistaken, just a small detail that I can't fully say with confidence is true because for some reason I don't fully take it in.

Do you have to believe Jesus rose from the dead specifically on the third day to be saved?

I think it might just be reading retention and then being able to confidently believe/say it.

Do you have to believe Jesus rose from the dead specifically on the third day to be saved?

No I'm not. I'm asking because of what it says in 1 Corinthians 15.

Do you have to believe Jesus rose from the dead specifically on the third day to be saved?

I have trouble with this. It's a detail I have trouble saying with confidence. I think it might be due to reading retention.

The strange wording of Isaiah 43:10

It's just saying that before the LORD there was no God formed. (not that the LORD was formed)

    Sun of Righteousness

From this verse it seems like it's speaking of a day when evildoers will be "made stubble", but for those that fear the name of the Lord of hosts, the sun of righteousness shall rise, and so forth. It doesn't seem to be speaking about a person.

Unable to reconcile the ending of Luke with John

Hey, 2ndTimothyGroup, I think this could possibly instead refer to the sin that abounds due to knowledge of the law (I'm actually not sure what it refers to). If I'm not mistaken Paul wrote about that, but I might be wrong.

The Torah is Still Binding and We Must Obey It

Actually the lake of fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, so I guess he does deserve it, but perhaps God doesn't see him deserving it RIGHT NOW. Edit: Ack, this might be stretching what Jesus said, but maybe it was prepared in God's foresight knowing the Satan and his angels wouldn't...

The Torah is Still Binding and We Must Obey It

Well the lake of fire is pretty terrible if you think about it, and unless I'm wrong we do every sin we commit ourselves. We can be deceived by Satan and if I'm correct maybe influenced by him (I think those begotten of God are possibly not affected by Satan directly through "spiritual" means...

The Torah is Still Binding and We Must Obey It

I don't really subscribe to your outcome here. As respectfully as I can put it across, I think it's possible that the reason Satan and other fallen angels aren't in the lake of fire right now is because they haven't done anything to warrant that happening yet. Satan will be bound for a thousand...

    Is Believing/Behaving Correctly a Work/Debt

And I think the Father has to draw someone for them to believe in Jesus. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    Is Believing/Behaving Correctly a Work/Debt

I don't think we should put emphasis on parts of scripture that differentiate it from what it already says. John 6:28-29 (KJV) 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on...

What does it look like to "wash each other's feet" in the spirit of our Lord's command?

John 13:14-15 (KJV) 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Well I guess if the circumstances call for it, we ought to be washing each other's feet!

Unable to reconcile the ending of Luke with John

Well it says "Now upon the first day of the week" which could be any week after Jesus' rising from the dead. This might seem strange to not mean the following week after the preceding events, but "Now upon the first day of the week" might have been commonly understood phrasing considering the...

Receive vs Filled with the Holy Spirit thoughts

Actually I might see what you're saying. I don't know if someone could be "born of the Spirit" and not believe in Jesus... but Elijah was carried to heaven so he might have "entered into the kingdom of God" and Jesus asks Nicodemus "Art thou a master of Israel and know not these things?".

Receive vs Filled with the Holy Spirit thoughts

I see no reason to believe otherwise on the basis that John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb. If God wanted to why couldn't he fill someone else with the Holy Spirit? If someone was filled with the Holy Spirit why couldn't they experience everything a believer experiences...

Receive vs Filled with the Holy Spirit thoughts

I think someone could be filled with the Holy Spirit prior to believing in Jesus and possibly experience everything a believer experiences with regards to the Holy Spirit (other than being led by the Holy Spirit, as it says those who are led by the Holy Spirit are the sons of God) and not be...

The Torah is Still Binding and We Must Obey It

Actually I might be totally misreading 1 Timothy and you might be right about what it said, Soyeong, sorry. I really need to be more careful. I don't understand how Jesus could be the goal of the law though. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that...

The Torah is Still Binding and We Must Obey It

I see what you're saying, but I think you might be misreading 1 Timothy as well as falling into bad translation, though I am by no means an expert when it comes to translation. 1 Timothy 1:1-5 (KJV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus...
