    Does God have wings?

I think the language might just be communicating things about God using imagery, for lack of a better word.

    Women Pastors

Why would the Holy Spirit call a woman to be a teacher in the church (or anything that has to do with teaching in some capacity within a church setting) when Paul suffered not a woman to teach and Paul wrote so in scripture? Unless you mean teaching in a woman's group, but even then the issue is...

    Women Pastors

I can differentiate between women teaching and a woman teaching in church. I don't really know exactly what Priscilla, Phoebe, Chloe, or Junia did, as far as I know only Priscilla can be gathered to have taught anything from what it says in the Bible (she and her husband expounded upon Apollos)...

"You will be held responsible for the murder of all godly people . . ."

The KJV reads differently. I was sort of just saying what I was saying about "my sinful nature" based on my own experience and what Paul wrote Romans 7:14-25 (KJV) 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would...

"You will be held responsible for the murder of all godly people . . ."

It's incredible, but I might see it that way because of my sinful nature, maybe it is truly horrible. From my understanding God made hosts and hosts of angels in the beginning, they all must have known life to be very good at the beginning because that is how God made it, yet to my understanding...

"You will be held responsible for the murder of all godly people . . ."

Are you implying that there might be a contradiction? I think it would be talking about two different things.

Unable to reconcile the ending of Luke with John

Well reading it some more I've realized at the beginning of Luke 24 it says "Now upon the first day of the week". It doesn't necessarily mean the next day after the preceding events. Women could have gone to the tomb numerous times and reported back to the men with the men not believing them and...

Unable to reconcile the ending of Luke with John

I honestly don't think it's necessary when just comparing Luke with John. In Luke it honestly reads like the events after the resurrection all happened on the same day. The women are perplexed not to find Jesus in the tomb, they run back to the apostles, that same day two of them are walking and...

Unable to reconcile the ending of Luke with John

This might have bothered me before, but it is now for sure. I might be missing something, but I can't seem to reconcile the ending of Luke with the ending of John. At the end of Luke there are women who go to Jesus' tomb then shortly after Jesus appears to two disciples walking and then shortly...

Should Jesus love you because you are a sinner 🤔

Well I think God and Jesus would love us if we were not sinners, but Jesus seems to say in those verses though not explicitly that he loves those that have gone astray, so he seems to have a love for us that is because we are sinners.

Should Jesus love you because you are a sinner 🤔

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Matthew 18:11-13 (KJV) 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one...

    Women Pastors

I think women can take part in church just as men can, sharing the gospel and talking about things as they like, just as a man could, but unless I'm mistaken somehow Paul is saying that he doesn't permit a woman to teach or to "usurp authority over the man". It seems to me that in church certain...

"You will be held responsible for the murder of all godly people . . ."

The KJV reads differently, Matthew 23:34-36 (KJV) 34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all...

Is it acceptable for Christians to have an unchristian job or career?

You shouldn't do something that's morally unacceptable.

    DON'T take the Mark!

I sort of get the feeling that when people approach the Bible with interpolative stances such as five point Calvinism that they might not actually believe what the Bible says and are just treating it like an intellectual exercise.

    Women Pastors

Paul saying that Adam was formed first and that Eve was deceived doesn't make me think this only applied to the church or churches in Ephesus, if that's what you're saying.

    Women Pastors

Well, yeah, Paul is saying that women should not have authority over men in church or teach in church because Eve was deceived (along with Adam being formed first). I don't think men should be lying in church though. I think it's about who's able to function in such a role and not about being...

    Women Pastors

The issue isn't really which is worse, and I don't think Paul is giving Adam a pass, he was just saying Eve was deceived and Adam wasn't.

No offense, but I think you're bringing your own presuppositions this.

Does the original Greek say something different than the KJV? I don't know how much more research would be needed, but the KJV seems pretty clear.
