The "God told me to tell you" Phenomenon

I was reading in another thread and was kind of surprised at how some of the posts read like instructions from God and how everyone else had better listen to the instructions or suffer the consequences. I'm not trying to single anyone out, or discuss another poster, but I would like to discuss...

    Understanding God’s election

Uh huh. Never contributed anything to the 'Adam' exchange and do not intend to do so.

    Pagan Holiday Thread

It's the threats they offer in 'love and concern' that really don't pass the smell test.

    Pagan Holiday Thread

Have been perusing this thread and became alarmed at this particular post. Yes I see it is from the 3rd wk in March thank you. I would absolutely have less than nothing to do with someone who threatens others with some kind of retribution because 'how dare you not recognize my superior...

    Understanding God’s election

You have gone over the edge and crashed into the truth; with which you do not appear to agree. I think you may have been taught or perhaps studied for yourself, beyond your capability for comprehension.

A Closer Look at God’s Election

I've skimmed over this thread but paid more attention to this page, #3. Do you really really think that God is a puppeteer of some sort? I'm not trying to be rude here, but I am genuinely asking just how you see God being 'in control' of everything. Words have meaning and everything means...

    Understanding God’s election

That would be close to heresy in most books. Unless you repent of your beliefs, you are against the actual gospel. You may believe you are saved by Jesus but to continually claim Calvinism is the gospel is anti-gospel. This is really a very serious problem with certain Calvinists. I don't...

    Understanding God’s election

Perhaps you might tell us why Calvinists follow Calvin and the Bible says to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

It seems you have not been paying attention. My critique of Calvinism is not some personal agenda.

    Understanding God’s election

It is truly a shame you Calvinists cannot discuss scripture without what appears to be a great urgency to denigrate and insult those who accurately point out the flaws in a human being, Calvin in this case. My statement is not false and your great horror at admitting Calvin is flawed in any...

    Understanding God’s election

You have no idea. However, you made no point about your beliefs but did manage to falsely accuse a believer in Christ. So yes, you made your point about how you operate and think.

Among Christian Groups today. Who did not pass this verse?

It's not my job to educate you, yet you are badly in need of one. It's not that hard though. Just google or use some other search engine, and ask who are the most anti-Christ. If you are using a biblical account, while historically accurate, you will not come to the right conclusion...

    Understanding God’s election

History is not silent with regards to Calvin's beliefs. If a person is a Calvinist, they interpret scripture through the lens of Calvinism. The gospel does not depend on following Calvin.

Among Christian Groups today. Who did not pass this verse?

Really? You sound somewhat prejudiced against them yourself. What proof do you have that this statement is true? Try Iran for one and others as well probably would fit the description better.

The op stated Christian groups. Not ethnicities . :)

    Understanding God’s election

Check the record. I have done extensive research on his 'work'. I have noticed that Calvinists love to call up the dead to create what they believe is credible proof of what they beleaguer people with. Follow Jesus. He is alive. Calvin is dead. Possibly more dead than some might think...

    Understanding God’s election

Well, if you are going to go ahead and draw such conclusions, at least try to get the grammar right. You have been deceived would be the proper way to word such an accusation. Otherwise, you simply sound ignorant. I said sound, I did not say you were, but nonetheless people will draw...

    Would Christ Vote?

Escape clause? Seriously, there is nothing in the NT to indicate Jesus was a rebel without a cause or even one with a cause. As has been illustrated, He obeyed the law even though the current law was Roman. You would think that Jesus would certainly not want to obey the conquerors of His own...
