    Loss of salvation???

If the explanations on these sites you are offering are as complicated and confusing and far fetched as the answers you are giving on this post—no thank you. I will just stick to what the Bible says. I don’t need to try to “explain it away”. Obviously, you do.

    Loss of salvation???

You do not have the ability to read “hearts”. In Mark 16:16, Jesus says that “HE WHO BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED.” I know you do not believe that- even though Jesus the Son of God said it—but I DO. That is exactly what Simon did. So I know he was saved. I trust what Jesus said...

    Loss of salvation???

Have you considered Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8? He had just “believed” and was “baptized” (verse 18) and then sinned (verse 19-20). He was told to “repent” and “pray”. The parable of the prodigal son is about a child of God falling away, repenting, and returning to his Father.

    Are all works bad?

Did you even read what I said about the thief on the cross? It doesn’t sound like you did.

    Are all works bad?

Consider it done. You said, “ There are about 20 that speak of salvation through FAITH ALONE.” Not only does James 2:24 contradict that, but NOT ONE of those scriptures you gave have the word “alone” in them. You see, that’s where the mistake lies. No one argues that we are NOT saved by...

    WORKS

Then Jesus said to the woman, “YOUR FAITH HAS SAVED YOU.” Luke 7:50. It was God’s Grace that provided the way for men to be saved. His “grace “ provided the sacrifice for our sins. In that sense His grace did save us but we can only access that grace by believing in Him. It’s our “faith”...

    Are all works bad?

Yes, “boastful” works will not save us—as I said. But this is not a condemnation of ALL works—which is my point.

    Are all works bad?

, post: 5362399, member: 170505"]justified before men, but not before God. see Romans 4:2 Ok. Let’s see Romans 4, but let’s examine the CONTEXT—that is, ALL of Roman’s 4 and 3also. I See that Paul is talking to Jews who are still holding on to the old law of Moses. He is arguing in...

    Are all works bad?

2 things: I am not the one “painting faith as a work.” Those scriptures are in the Bible . God did that —not me. I am just trying to bring them to your attention. And 2) like most Calvinists ( whether you are or not) you have inserted the word “ONLY”. in there where God did not use that...

    WORKS

Then we are not saved by “faith.” John 6:29, 1 Thess. 1:3, 1 Thess. 1:11

    Are all works bad?

What is important in this passage is NOT the people who are asking the question—but Jesus’s answer. His answer proves that faith is a work ( of God) and that it is something we must DO. Jesus only needs to say something one time for it to be true; but there are at least 2 other scriptures...

    Are all works bad?

If that was true, Wouldn’t that eliminate “faith” as part of our salvation; since Jesus said that “faith” is a WORK? It would surely be considered a GOOD work—not a bad one.

    Are all works bad?

That would make a person saved before they “believed” since Jesus said “faith is a work.” That can’t be true.

    Are all works bad?

I don’t believe that is what John 6 is saying, do you?

    Are all works bad?

“Works of righteousness which WE have done” are the same kinds of works in Ephesians 2, of which we can “boast.” They are OUR ( man’s works) not God’s. If it had said, “not of “GOD’s works of righteousness” then you might have something that would contradict James 2. Havevyouvever heard of...

    Are all works bad?

While that verse is true, it in no way refutes or contradicts what I have posted about works. John 6:28-29 STILL says “believing “ is a WORK. And James 2:24 STILL says “by WORKS a man is JUSTIFIED ( Saved) and NOT by FAITH ONLY. So what do you think Acts 10:23 proves? Only that “faith” is one...

    Are all works bad?

I gave scripture showing that they do. Where is your scripture showing that they do NOT? James 2:24 says you are wrong.

Why I now believe that salvation can be lost.

Are you aware that Jesus said “faith” is a work? John 6:28-29. And Paul said “faith” is a work? 2 Thess. 1:11.and again in 1 Thess. 1:3.? Since God says “faith” is a work, and YOU say we are NOT saved by works, then you have just thrown out “faith” as necessary for salvation. God says without...
