    Attitudes toward drinking

Sorry, just logged in and saw this. You’re very welcome :) Yes, you’re right. Seeing as we are all still sinners in need of a Savior, it’s no wonder sometimes people seem to respond “in the flesh” instead of “in the Spirit.” I was surprised to hear about all the division within Christians when...

Your thoughts on friendships with non-Christians?

So sorry, just logging in and seeing this now. I’m sorry you’ve lost contact with her. Is it just that they aren’t responding? If they have the same social media or phone number then maybe it’s just a question of showing unconditional love and support to them? Letting them know that they’re not...

Your thoughts on friendships with non-Christians?

I’d agree with Johari and try to reach out to them, especially to the one you’re worried about. If they answer, at least you’d know they’re alive. You can try to reach out even if it’s one-sided, but if you have no luck with any then we’re to shake the dust off our feet if we’re not welcome. I’d...

    Attitudes toward drinking

I see you’re relatively new Tararose. I don’t know but if you’re generalizing perhaps you’ve had some previous negative experiences on here? Don’t take it personally. Not everybody on the site is Christian and some people may be having a bad day or a bad time in general, we don’t know. Though...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

The Jewish ceremonial laws were meant to distinguish God’s people Israel from the other nations such as circumcision which Christians no longer have to keep. Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, not abolish it. God never wanted the Israelites to follow the pagan practices because they were...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

Thanks for chiming in RemnantRD :) Exactly, God said not to learn the ways of the Gentiles and yoga was created to worship Hindu gods and yoke your soul with Brahman. Even Hindu teachers say the spiritual Hindu beliefs cannot be separated from the physical poses. Like you, I’d also suggest doing...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

Okay, interesting. Thank you for clarifying. I think I see how you’re thinking of it. I still see the spiritual connected to the physical though. Yes, we do wrestle against darkness and spiritual wickedness etc. And yes, the Holy Spirit is the one that caused Paul to fall, be blind, and get...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

I’m not sure how you came to the conclusion that the Bible distinguishes between the unseen spirit realm and the material world. It seems connected to me when we read about how we wrestle not against physical flesh and blood but against spiritual powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), when Paul...

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

That is so good to hear that most of the centers are still following the original style and focus. It’s the Holy Spirit that makes a difference. Those are good questions, but I wonder if they are allowed to share that they are Reformist or Calvinist? In public schools, teachers are not allowed...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

Ouija boards, tarot cards, and even the pencil and paper for the Charlie Charlie game are just objects, but when people use them for things God calls abominations like trying to talk to dead spirits, I do think demons can get attached to objects/places. Demons interact with people and objects...

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

I’d agree that the book is better than the movie in most cases. I think there’s a few exceptions. I can think of 2 right now. You might disagree, but I personally liked the Old Yeller and A Walk to Remember movies better than the books. In almost all other cases, the book is way better :)

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

I didn’t know Pat Boone was a Baptist, but it makes a little more sense now why there was a disconnect between the book and movie. It’s a bit strange that they chose to make the movie in the first place if they were so averse to what the book said… And the fact that not all actors in a Christian...

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

If it’s in the book I don’t remember and haven’t heard of those things, but that’s good the charismatic movement had Pentecostal roots. I had also heard of false “kundalini” spirits and how that’s gone into churches as well. I had never experienced anything like it, but first felt the Holy...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

It’s not just one pose, but a sequence of sun salutation poses. I agree with you that a stretch one does that may seem similar to (or may even unknowingly match) a yoga pose isn’t the same thing as a person intentionally doing yoga. Some people are worshiping while doing yoga. Why should a...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

Yes, I agree. As we had already established some posts ago, nobody is worshiping demons by stretching to touch their toes, lifting their arms, or sitting cross-legged. Those are not the same thing as yoga, a Hindu practice. Yes, worship God “in spirit” so not just physically and “in truth.” Do...

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

Good news, my dad liked The Cross and the Switchblade! And I definitely felt it was more enjoyable the second time around. One, because it’s more fun to watch with someone else to comment and you laugh more, and two because now I knew what to expect and accepted it wasn’t going to completely...

What are some "bad" movies that you happen to like?

Wow, a “Teen” Challenge graduate, that’s awesome! :D They came to our church once to speak. Then the movie must especially be meaningful to you <3 And exactly, without the Holy Spirit none of it would have been possible! A missed opportunity. Maybe (since the book was so good) my expectations...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

For those of you that may be reading the thread and either don’t believe in the spiritual realm, demons, the Holy Spirit, or even God for that matter, what do you make of the following video? It shows something they call false “kundalini spirits” which are really demons and how they appear not...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

I’m glad you think demons and spiritual warfare are real, but I’m not sure what is stopping you from connecting them to yoga. Are you saying that yoga is only a Hindu practice if you are Hindu but if you are Christian then their beliefs behind the poses don’t apply to us? Even if that is what...

    Yoga is Dangerous to Christianity

You are free to move by bowing your body, but as I said above that depends where and how you are doing it. We still cannot physically bow our bodies in the worship or seeming worship of idols because God commanded us not to. I think our basic disagreement lies in our underlying assumptions. I am...
