No. It's about the NATURE of what the being is. The nature of a dog is to eat vomit and roll in the mud. That's what it WANTS to do at it's core. You, as a Child of God, may stumble into that stuff, but that's not who you are at YOUR core.

So the word "escape" now means "saved"? Show me it says these dogs were saved. I can give my dog a bath, and she can be clean as whistle. She has escaped the filth of the outside world. Then I can let her out, and she can come back in TWICE as filthy. But somehow, she always comes back as a dog!

It doesn't say they were saved or born again. Peter could have used any number of terms to denote they were God's children. But didn't. That is nothing more than you adding to the Word to say they were saved.

Yup. they had the KNOWLEDGE of jesus. Now show me where it says they were saved or born again. He absolutely refers to them as dogs, the same way Jesus refers to us as sheep.

Ya know, a great study would be on sheep. Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through Scripture refer to His children as sheep. And that's a perfect analogy for us. Sheep are dumb. Sheep are easily frightened away from their Shepherd. A lot of other similarities between sheep and God's children. But...

It doesn't say they were saved. That's an ASSUMPTION on your part. In fact it calls these people dogs. I don't know about you, but I ain't no dog, I'm metaphorically a sheep, but more accurately a child of God.
