People in the Bible you feel sorry for.

I feel bad for Abel. From what little you read of him, he seemed like he genuinely wanted to do right in the eyes of God....only to be murdered by his brother. He surely didn't deserve that kind of fate. Is there anyone in the Good Book that you have sympathy for?

What do we make of these verses?

Matthew 16:28; Mark 9:1; and Luke 9:27 Jesus (talking to his disciples) seems to be implying that his return would be within their lifetime....that they (at least some of them) would still be alive when the Second Coming would occur. Now....I'm not trying to make anyone question their faith...

Can one blaspheme the Holy Spirit unintentionally?

I ask this because a lot of Christians worry they have accidentally committed this sin. Because after all, who in their right mind would want to commit this sin on purpose? So for those who believe we can commit the unpardonable sin today, do you think God has mercy for those who commit it...

I hope there's (blank) in Heaven.

Thought this would be fun. Obviously, we want our loved ones in Heaven with us. Our family, friends and pets as well. But what are some other things you hope are in Heaven? Can be anything. Books, sports, sleeping. Just giving examples. :) For me, I hope there's soda. Or at least...

Sad scenes that don't involve anyone dying.

They can be from a movie, TV show, video game. Doesn't matter. I always think of this scene from Planes, Trains and Automobiles. His response after being insulted by Steve Martin's character has always stayed with me. Any other scenes you can think of?

Are you scared of going to hell?

I'm sure many Christians have that "What if?" thought. I know I have. And that thought being: What if, despite my Christian faith, I go to hell? In our minds, the reasons vary. Maybe we didn't live a good enough life. Maybe we died without repenting for our sins. Maybe some of us feel like we...

How many relationships have you been in?

So I turn 34 later this year and I've never been in a relationship....let alone kissed anyone. I know....poor me. But it's alright. Considering how my life is going, I have other things to worry and be depressed about anyway. 😬 But this is something I wanted to ask my fellow CC members: How...

What's your favorite book of the Bible? :)

I know....not original. And its probably been asked a million times before. But one more time won't hurt, right? :p For me, it's a tie between Genesis and Revelation. Genesis because it's one of the best (perhaps THE best) books of the Bible in terms of story. And Revelation because...

I've fallen on some hard times.

And things are really starting to go downhill for me. I'm in a very dark place in my life. Nothing seems to be going right, but a lot is going wrong. And things seem to be getting worse. I keep thinking about how it's always darkest before the dawn. Or how things will get worse before they...

    RIP Larry King.

Larry King, legendary talk show host, dies - CNN I always suspected that he had a wealth of information in his head because of his endless curiosity and because of all the people he had interviewed over the years. Very sad to hear about his passing.

Just a little something I was wondering about.

First off, I apologize if this has been asked before. I'm sure it has, but I haven't seen any threads about it or anyone talk about it here before. I've been curious about the part in Exodus 4:10 where Moses says that he is slow of speech and of tongue. I didn't understand what that meant...

Trump has tested positive for COVID-19.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/02/us/politics/trump-covid.html Guess it goes to show you that no one is immune to this thing. Still sucks though.

Which holiday do you like more?

Since it's about that time of the year where we enter into the holiday season, I thought this would be a good time to make this thread. Which holiday is better, in your opinion? or Personally, I like the former more. Because I love scary movies and things of that nature. Halloween is...

Were the three patriarchs suppose to mirror the Trinity?

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob....an early reflection of the Trinity? Abraham is called the father of nations. Isaac is the son that was almost sacrificed. And Jacob....well, I don't know what (if any) parallels you could draw between Jacob and The Holy Spirit. But it's an interesting idea. Or I...

For those who read the Bible....

Which do you spend more time reading? The Old Testament or the New Testament? And why? If I was one to read the Bible often, I'd probably read the Old Testament more. Just because there's more ground to cover and a lot more variety as far as stories and whatnot goes. What about you?

Which life scenario sounds better to you?

I can think of pros and cons to either scenario. Personally, I'd go with having lifelong friends over finding love. What about you?

    Which do you prefer saying?

When referring or talking about "the 12" who knew and followed Jesus, do you prefer calling them the 12 apostles or the 12 disciples? Just a simple question I thought I'd ask. I don't think there's any "right" answer to this, if I'm not mistaken. It's just a matter of preference. :)
