Hi,

Would it be possible to make it so that all rooms except the Lounge and Yousing are member only? There's been more than one instance where chatter's have moved to a room for a more private discussion (life problems, testimonies, or heated discussions), but it's been all weird because guests were buzzing in and out or there were few mute guests just sitting in the room watching. It's just kinda wierd and bothersome. I can understand the desire to allow them to experience the site prior to signing up/on, but I think that need can be fullfilled by just permitting them access to the Lounge and Yousing.

I agree. If they want to go to other rooms besides Lounge and YouSing, then they would have to sign up. Because they're basically people we don't know listening in on our conversations/testamonies, ect.

Well even if they are registered users, there are still chances you won't know exactly who is listening.

If you want something private and kept out of unknown ears, best thing to do is not talk about it online.

No need to be rude. Wouldn't that mean I wouldn't be using CC?

You are right about still not knowing who's listening though.

The problem is a couple of them seem to be ocd on crack, they leave and reenter the room - I kid you not- 20 times in under 10 seconds. I don't know how that's even possible- but they manage it! They are like finger athletes!

I wasn't being rude. Sorry it came across that way.

All I'm saying is that it'd be nice to have a degree of confidentiality and privacy in many of the other rooms. I'm aware that those unregistered guests could still just join up and then join the chatroom. In that instance, at least we'd have a name for the ... well, name. That, and permitting them to talk would probably let their creepiness come out, if present, which would cue us to not have more private discussions. As it is, however, everyone's just hiding out in Prayer when the guests descend en masse and start behaving foolishly (rapidly entering and exiting rooms, etc.)

Still, I guess what I'm saying is that while I understand your criticism, I can't see a compelling reason why this shouldn't be done. The pro's definitely outweigh the currently non-existent cons, at least from what I see.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying Aussie. The only trouble is you can't talk to multiple people in PC, and you can't use voice chat.

Well. if I have something to say to someone in private I always take it to msn, yahoo, or skype.. Just a thought..And most of the guest that are inthe rooms are chaters.. It is just that they first get to CC they are not logged in yet and it puts them in the room as a guest .. This has happened to me manytimes. But you have to remember this is a public chatroom.. Anyone is allowed in anyroom. EXCEPT Prayer and teens room... You can add multiple people to skype and Msn.. just a thought.. :D

We just have to remember .. Robo is doing all the work... He also has a job besides looking after Chat and a family to spend time with as well.. So we can't always be asking him to make changes.. I for one am Thankful for what we have already.

I concur dear CC friends. We must, as Topher has suggested, omit guests from everywhere except for the Lounge and Yousing(??) area.

I don't understand something. Or maybe I just missed it somewhere. When I joined Christian chat I thought I would be signing up for a chat room. Instead I wound up here on a message forum. Which is okay since I can read posts from other christians, but I don't see the chat room that you are all talking about here.

Can someone tell me how to find it, please? That way I will probably be able to come up with a suggestion for your complaint about people listening in to private conversations. I have tried clicking on the link at the top of the page that says chat rooms, but only get this message forum.
