For some reason I'm reminded of a song from an old radio show called Word Stories.
Is an earwig a wig on an ear?
Is an eggplant a plant growing eggs?
Is a mushroom a room for the mush?
Is a nightmare a horse in the dark?
I've looked for the ma in the marmalade
I've searched for the crow in the crowbar
I've played with the cat in the catsup
And roared with the lion in the dandilion
But where is the toe in the mistletoe?
And where is the gum in the gumbo?
I'm also reminded of a story called Acorna, but that's a whole other story. Actually a series of stories.
