so the feller at the fillin station said her yeller car was purdy?

I've traveled a lot, but only lived 5 places... all of them had very special and distinct versions of redneck-speak.

I'm fairly well traveled, well cultured, well read, and smarter than a paper cut at the lemon juice factory. I can put on the dog and talk brainy & posh, but in my roots, I'm just a good ole boy.

And honestly that is something I know. I think I just wanted somebody else to confirm it. As far as getting engaged this soon does it sound like a childish mistake or do you think that God ever works that fast. That where I am really torn I am a very logical person and not emotionally guided where he is dead opposite. I think logically by august we will have been dating for about 7 months, that doesn't sound like very long to me but to him he says he loves me and thats what matters. Like I say I know my feelings are right to marry him as well but I have just seen too many marriages fail I am very skeptical of marriages as a whole.
You said you've been dating for about 4 months but how long have you known him? How long were you friends before you started dating? If you haven't known each other for very long before you were dating, then you don't really know each other well enough to make a life-long commitment. I know of lots of people, even Christians, who are divorced or in miserable marriages because they married someone that they didn't really know yet. You may feel head-over-heels in love with your guy, but human existence has shown that that strong feeling will fade away within a couple of years. And that's the point where marriages start to turn south if they are not rooted in something stronger than feelings. A long friendship with Christ in the center is a good foundation.

It sounds like you're very open to God working in your heart, so pray it in for a while. If you indeed have not been friends long before dating, I would strongly advise you to take engagement (and moving in together) completely off the table until you've been together for at least a year.

Four months. Really?

I don't even know if I like a new suit when I've had it for four months.

Four months...in the span of life...it's nothing. That is not a length of time.

You wanted an outsiders opinion. *shrug*
