"You can never argue anyone into the Kingdom of heaven; you cannot argue anyone any where. The only result of arguing is to prove to your own mind that you are right and the other fellow wrong. You cannot argue for truth; but immediately Incarnate Truth is presented, a want awakens in the soul which only God can meet." --Oswald Chambers, in The Moral Foundations of Life from the Quotable Oswald Chambers.

What an awesome truth. I find this quote to be profound.
I belonged to a Christian Group with a major network, and
it was the most tiring place to be. Constant fighting over
and over about who was right and who was wrong.....

I went back on after leaving .... to post prayer requests.
I would sometimes take a quick look to see if after 4 years
it had anything worth going back into group for, and they
were still fussing over same issues. I am so glad to see
the above quote.

It says it all. It is a matter of trying to prove I am right
you are wrong.... and it gets no one gets saved... ??

I believe after we have given all we know to share to start
with and you see it is not getting anywhere... Quit... Give
them to God and let Him do with the person we are trying
to convince they need Him as Savior, or whatever the issue,
and Let God be God... Only He can get into their spirit, not us.

I love that quote! I agree with it and what you said. Debating or bickering with non-believers makes there be a strong chance of pushing them away instead of drawing them closer to Christ. Also, bickering with fellow Christians does not represent Christ in the most positive light. Why should a lost soul want to become a follower of our Lord if they only see Christians bickering and debating amongst themselves.

Excellent post, as usual:)

I appreciate your response Toska. I have to say though I am guilty as sin,
when it comes to losing my cool with my own brothers or sister in Christ.
Thank you for pointing that out.... I needed reminded. God bless you. ~ J~K~2

Oh yeah... take a deep breath.... inhale<<<<<exhale>>>>>> There don't you feel like arguing now ?

I know if you are female.... it is difficult not to really push your point.... I think that is called nagging.
On a serious note: I am one who does not stand around and argue a point if a person doesn't want
to hear what I have to say. One can only pray if it is a Word from God a good seed has been planted.

Geeee, I hope I got my point across, sigh::::::::::::::::::::::::;
