Dear Jesus,
I was there you know. I was on the Hill called Golgotha.
I was on Your mind while You hung on the Cross.
You looked at those staring at You, with such love. They
saw the Blood caked and drying on Your body, as it
seeped through the 39 stripes that were ripped open.
The Crown was forced down upon Your head, Your
Blood ran over your face, with swollen and bruised
eyes, You could see through the slits, LOVE poured
out from them. Your mockers taunted You and said
"You say You are the King....Take yourself down now."
As You gasped for your breath, You said, "Father forgive
them, for they know not what they do."
Only Love of a Savior could utter those words. Some
slink away from the Bloody path as it ran down the
Hill. Asking, how could He ask God to forgive? Why
is He not cursing those who mock Him? Surely this
is "who He said He is."
Jesus, I heard You whisper, "I thirst." What they
offered You to quench Your thirst is not the "Living
Water" You knew we would need. You would not
take the hyssop and numb Your pain. You knew the
"Living Water" would be our Salvation.
You gasped, and cried, "Father, into Thy hands I
commit my spirit." Those around you gasped at
the body hanging on the Cross. Could He really
have been who He said ? Is He really the Savior
of the World?
Today, man still debates about who You are. They
still mock You and your followers who really KNOW
YOU. We believe You died for our sins and the
Cross is symbolic of our Savior Jesus Christ. We
share Your love with those who have not yet understood
why You would allow yourself to be nailed to the Cross.
Only those who truly believe sin exists
understand the need for a Savior.
When we receive You into our heart it is then,
we know YOU are truly our Savior. You are Alive.
I know, because I was on Your mind.
Today You live in my heart.
You are alive, You are risen from the dead and now
ever intercedeing for those You died for. Blessed
be the Lord for evermore. Amen
