A sort of semi-continuation if my last thread 🤣 We all have food we hate or like, but what about ones that you eventually liked more as you grew up?

I know for me I used to dislike Mac and cheese (oddly enough) and fig newtons. Love both of them now. That and condiments. For some reason I just didn’t like sauces of any kind. It wasn’t until I was 16+ that I ate ketchup, bbq sauce, mustard, or mayo.

I wasn't fond of healthy food, but now am. Not all of it though.

Honestly I wasn’t either. It’s only been in the last like 2 years that I’ve actually been willing to eat veggies that weren’t in a sandwich.

I can pretty much say that my palate hasn't changed much over the years. Foods that I disliked as a kid I still don't like but now I'll at least tolerate them vs trying to figure every way imaginable to not eat them when I was a kid.
I despised peas as a kid to the point (mom and dad were big on cleaning your plate) of A) slipping them to the dog B) shoving my mouth full of them and then going to the bathroom and spitting them into the toilet.

Ironically I like all the veggies that most kids freak out about: broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach, peas

Wasn't a fan of mayo or peanut butter until the last 5 years. I mean I liked peanut butter in general but not PB &Js (still don't) or plain (which now is one of my favorite things with coffee). Mayo I couldn't stand on anything (besides canned tuna) and now I find it excellent on sandwiches :)

Also...Onions. Love em in food now and I would always get remakes as a child if there were any. Although to be fair, MCD onions on burgers are still kinda gross if they are diced.

That reminds me...I never put anything on my burger except cheese. I still don’t but like I’m not gonna make them take it back

I disliked olives and avacados but love them both now. Olives on pizza and toasted avacado and cheese sandwiches are yum!!

I used to be somewhat of a picky eater. Now, I will eat anything and everything.

You give me food, you become my best friend.

The one candy that I can think of that I could not stand as a kid was Starbursts. Now, I'm obsessed. I used to not eat spaghetti with any sauce, now I can do that.

I've grown up so much. *wipes tears from eyes*

As a child I used to prefer mom's white sourdough bread over her whole wheat. Now whole wheat is all I make. For some reason it just tastes better, and I can't imagine why I liked white bread better. But I distinctly remember liking it better, and at the time it DID taste better to me.

I’m slowly slowly enjoying “weird” food combos. To me ketchup and mustard was weird. But I can totally handle that on my burger now. That and like the “special sauce” usually meaning like a tangy mayo.
