And if you look at the context of that last verse Kathleen you will see that Jesus is comparing murder to anger. Anger is murder in your heart. Just as Jesus compared lust to adultery.

Facing the truth about individual struggles or sins isn't easy, but the truth is, many enjoyed their sins. They simply did not enjoy the results of their sins. Imprisonment, broken marriages, being slaves to addictions. It's generally the emptiness and the self destructive lifestyle, and what we must do to maintain a sinful lifestyle, which people begin to loathe.

God does not necessarily measure our love for him, by how much we despise our sin. I believe it is enough to loathe/hate the wages of sin and to prefer Christ. Moses made a conscious choice to endure persecution with the people of God, rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin. It becomes a matter of who we choose to serve from day to day, that partly proves our devotion to Christ, but one thing is certain, those who love God, hate satan.

Hebrews 11:25

... having determined to endure ill-treatment along with the people of
God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasures of sin; ...

Read the prior verse in that passage.

We are all sinners. We all fall short. We must forgive people or we will not be forgiven. We have to keep praying for people to come to God. We have to keep praying for Christians to realize their faults. Without our prayers there is no hope. We have to keep speaking Gods words and keep loving people. We have to keep asking God to show us what dirt is inside of us.
