Ugly is right...we,as men know when we are out of our league. You women know it too. Yer' thinking "omg..does this dude really think he has a shot with me?" Christian women want a christian version of George Clooney or Brad Pitt. Period. lol
yippie, how sad it is, how day a woman goes to a pastor and tells him. I asked God for a white born again man, and He gave me a dark skinned one. Not that she was racist nah, but just her preferences where out the outward... not cool at ALL.
it kinda got me insecure at times like, am dark skinned, and women prefer white skinned men so umh

**ALONE FOREVER**. LOL

I DECLARE CELIBACY lol. jk...

I have always wanted to believe that looks is not everything when it comes to the dating world. I have decided I am wrong and want to know what other Christians think about this. Everyone feel free to give your input on this topic.
Yes and no.
I say this because someone's personality can make them attractive. I have only dated 1 good looking guy in my life.
The rest were by others standards were nerds, fat, bald, and I loved them for the contents of their heart and how they treated me.
Some I should have run in the other direction upon hindsight...LOL
The most important thing to me now is how devoted he is to God. Is he on fire for Christ? Does he serve and love God with his whole heart? Does he not only read the bible but live it too?
These things are way more important than looks to me.

Basically we all have different preferences, supposedly born with them. some men love girls with crossed eyes, some like em short, some like em plump, some like women that are thin, some like them busty, you get the idea. it goes with the women as well
some of these desires are picked up from peer pressure, some are people just come to choose such, some come from PORN.
but all these desires should always have SELF CONTROL, that is there must be a balance between looks, spiritual maturity, financial maturity, and other places that maturity be needed and at times this is not the fact, BUT ey, SEEK THE LORD. and whatever you are SURE HE GIVES TO YOU. TRUST HIM..

IT ALL BEGINS AND ENDS WITH GOD..

Wow, this is a very honest and cool thread! :) hmm...

Well, in all honesty, we all do have physical preferences for the type of person that we would find attractive. But through the years, my original, fool-proof set was displaced by many things i've seen and discovered. It's kinda funny, as i look back now. I said i'd only like a guy who was darker than me, at a certain height, with this amount of facial and body hair, plus i had race specifications and such (basically didn't like the idea of considering someone who wasn't Filipino, thinking that the exchange of values and cultures wouldn't be fruitful for either of us). But my, oh, my...GOD has abolished it all :D He's revealing to me different kinds of beauty, and that the possibilities stretch far beyond my own understanding. It's amazing and refreshing to be shown that. So now, i don't have a particular skin tone, height, or race predilection. GOD's love can take any form, and HE is sure to amaze me with what HE reveals :). So i only have basics. I just want a guy with beautiful eyes, beautiful smile, and great hair (physical wise. Of course HE has to be a man of GOD, and so much more! XD).

It's true that the relationships that last or grow deeper are those that are beyond skin deep, where you actually discover a person who is mature, entertaining, amusing, funny, who could open your mind and your heart to things you've never seen before. It's like an awesome revelation of a different kind of world through another person's mind, and in being with that person continually, your world actually becomes bigger and more colorful and interesting. More so because GOD is the one doing the revealing between the 2 of you :).

In a nutshell, GOD knows the desire of our heart. HE knows what makes us tick, what makes our heart soar, what makes us engaged, intrigued, happy, and satisfied. So HE will lead us to that person HE sees who has all that we'd find attractive. The key is to be very honest about it. There's no point in kidding HIM anyway XD and to have a heart and mind that loves GOD first and foremost. 'Coz we all need to be changed into HIS image of love and righteousness, to be ideal for that special someone we are hoping for as well. So in the end....**fireworks from heaven** :D

[h=3]Psalm 90:17[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Don't want to make another wall that will scare some people XD

GOD bless us all, and fill our hearts with HIS joy and peace, as we are changed to meet our "chosen one" in Christ Jesus our LORD!! :D

And... that means what? I'm only as pretty as God made me. :) And I'm single still so I guess I'm not pretty enough.

Pretty doesn't mean anything is your heart is ugly. I've met gorgeous men and women who acted ugly and treated others disrespectfully.

If someone judges me for how I look, I would hope that they see more than what's on the outside.
I want them to see my heart as God sees all of us first. Pretty means nothing unless the heart matches the outward appearance.

I was actually being a bit flippant with my comment lol...oh and shoosh yer' face Jules, yer' prettier that either of those 2 chicks! I know people can't help physically what they are attracted to. In all honesty,I can't think of one good reason why a woman would ever find a man attractive. lol We are pretty gross, for the most part. lol Then again, maybe 'cause I am one is why I think that way. Oh...I'm so confused. lol

LOL! Hmm...maybe this explains why God made MEN visual creatures and gave women the ability to love what's underneath. ;)

And I would never be flippant in here! :rolleyes:

LOL, Dear friend! :D You guys aren't gross! What in hey is that view of yours upon yourselves, that shouldn't be so! And a word of advice: don't think that a girl is out of your league. You are men of GOD :) i think that is something you are sorely overlooking. It is GOD that is doing a work of perfection in you, internally, and even physically, if you let HIM inspire you and give you the will to be the best versions of yourselves! If you feel that you are inadequate physically, then step up! :D whether it's trying to be physically fit, or having better skin or hair care, it's not vanity. Look at it as being a good steward of GOD's blessing upon you, and glorifying GOD with what you do with your body. That way, you'll be more confident with yourself. And you'll be upgrading your packaging, so that "chosen one" after GOD's own heart would also be blown away by the sight of you :). It's only fair, right? You want the best for you, so you should be the best for that special girl in Christ as well ;).

I'll say the verse again, as a prayer to us all who strive to be beautiful, just like our awesome LORD GOD ALMIGHTY:

[h=3]Psalm 90:17[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

God bless you, sweet brother in Christ!!

Speak for yourself! I shower regularly and put the seat back down when in unisex bathrooms. Women may find me annoying, scatterbrained, too distant, too open, too reserved, too serious, too funny...but I have never been described as "gross." ;)

I meant that I do see what or why women would find men physically attractive. Like I said..maybe I don't get it 'cause I'm a man & I don't see other men as attractive for the most part...don't worry man,I wasn't trying to diss yer' grooming habits or accuse you of not washing your bits properly.LOL

I'm really looking for a girl with one giant eyeball in her forehead.

Is that so wrong?
