"In His book, The Holy Bible, God the Holy Spirit says, "But, telling
the truth in love, we should grow up in every way toward Him who is
the Head - Christ, from whom the entire body is fitted together and
united" (1)
In His prayer to the Father, Jesus asked,
I am not praying only for them, but also for those who will believe
in Me through their message, so that all may be one, as Thou Father
art in Me, and I in Thee, so they may be in Us, and so that the world
may believer that Thou hast sent Me. I have given them the glory
which Thou hast given to Me, so that they may be one as We are
one, I in then and Thou in Me, so that they may be completed into
one, that the world may recognize that Thou hast sent Me and hast
loved them as Thou hast loved Me. (2)
"What is it that makes us one? The fellowship with God offered to
us by Jesus Christ and preserved in us by the Holy Spirit.
"Gifts are fine, but they do not make us one. Doctrine is fine, but it
is not the source of oneness. The body of Jesus Christ alone is that
place where oneness occurs. With Paul, I fear that our "minds should
be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ". (3)
