The Earths climate before Noah's flood was considerably different. Gravity was actually lighter and the world was in more of a greenhouse situation. There were no seasons. Also ultra violet rays could not get through so people did not age so fast and wine could not ferment.
The genes of the human race were more varied then. We are all descended from some of the eight people who survived in the ark. The four women on board held the genes for the racial diversity we see now. Specifically red, yellow, black and white skins. Japheths wife would have had the fair skin and Shems's wife the rosy red skin. Therefore Ham's wife was either black or asian. That leaves Noah's wife as the other one of the famous four matriarchs.
Noah would have had young dinosaurs hibernating on the ark but the post flood environment was not conducive to their flourishing. Still we hear mention of Leviathan in Job and the legend of St George and the Dragon.
