Personal Philosophies
A few simple
'why' or
'what's the point' questions...
Should I carry a rifle to go hunting...yes, by all means, do so! A humane method of
'harvesting' meat for your table (provided the proper caliber is employed) is, or was, part of life. There is no political deer hunting
agenda (read
posturing) being served.
Carrying a rifle to go into Walmart? Where's the logic in taking a rifle out of your car, safety checking it, then strapping an 8 lb. uncomfortable hunk of metal across your back to go in and look for a few items?
Now consider
Johnny...being a well behaved, caring, trash-conscious, crime fighting citizen/superhero. It seems to me that Johnny's parents should have warned him not to paint a target on himself, which is exactly what he's doing. The first real criminal that enters Johnny's neighborhood is going to approach him in a seemingly friendly manner, and then requisition Johnny's firearm without Johnny's consent. The same goes for Mr. Ball Cap Shades III.
It seems to me that if one were to decide to be armed, concealed carry seems the logical choice in most venues. Why advertise
'free firearms for the taking', or '
I really have low self esteem due to a sizable lacking in certain parts of my anatomy'?
Now consider another extreme...humans (a highly questionable assessment) bossing people around as part of their
official duties, making people's lives a little more miserable than they already are.
I have the right to burn the American flag, however, will I annoy people needlessly if I do so? Most likely.
I have a God given right/ability to
flatulate. This right is reinforced by the
Declaration of Independence. Again, will I annoy people needlessly in the exercise of my rights/abilities?
'Because it's my right', does not necessarily equate to
'an endeavour that I should pursue'.
Perhaps I should have labeled this thread
'The Lunatic Rant'?
Peace.
