So how is this a cost to the people left behind if the person gets a job and sends money back to His home country???? If the person stays in his country then he or she will starve right alongside the family they left behind.. And i do think about the cost of immigration..

you need to live in the real world, countries Do send migrants. Look at history, entire companies were built sending migrants! nz company, the dutch east india company, the slave trade. Britain sent a whole fleet of convicts to Australia as they didnt know what to do with them. Puritans left for america to escape persecution. Most of the population in Ireland left cos of the potato famine.

the entire USA INVITED migrants...they wanted people to populate the land taken over from native americans settled. Land was actually GIVEN away for free...!

I stand on my original reply .. Migration must be legal.. welcomed by the existing populace of a country,, And immigration must be of benefit to the existing population..

acually it has basis.


most of the time its not because WARS happen all the time and people need to go somewhere to get away from them.
another thing is many countries dont have the legislation thats even recognised. Did the native americans have any say over european migration, well at first it was welcomed, and then, it wasnt but there was little agreement and treaties (in two different langauages) were often broken...so its a bit of a grey area.

You cant say must or must not when legislation itself is iffy, waffly and changes all the time.

Just had a speaker today from Christian World Service talking about migration, particularly the situation in Syria and Palestine in Lebanon with all the refugees.


One cant really assimilate to a country in a refugee camp, even if living for years because a refugee doesnt have much choice and their homeland is their home where the rest of their family is, not their host country.

so people who think that its easy maybe need to go and work with some refugees in the resettlment camps to understand just how difficult everyday things can be for people, aside from the trauma of being forced to flee, but adjusting to a completley foriegn environment

housing shortage in nz is an issue we are faced with, so even with LEGAL immigrants who had enough money or capital to buy a place, the problems were compounded when people then buying and selling land and raising rents so that our own existing population ends up homeless.

so who does it end up benefiting, only the wealthy people, and what do they do with the money, go buy land somewhere else overseas from the proceeds cos its cheaper.

there are benefits that arent related to the captial they invest though, like bringing food, culture, manpower and skills. But some people see capital as the only thing, which is actually very short sighted.

What does God see though. Why does He want a people to move from one place to another?

Could it just be that people want a home, somewhere safe to live. In maori this is called turangawaewae, a place to stand.
