Here's an idea, let's stop promoting half-truths.

If you disagree with RCC doctrine do not misrepresent their doctrine.

- the church does not practice simony
- the church does not worship mary or any other saints
- the church does not teach us to pray to statues.

If you disagree with LDS doctrine do not misrepresent their doctrine.

- the church teaches that Jesus and satan and all of us are God's children and therefore spirit brothers and sisters - it is not an attempt to equate satan with Christ.

- the church does not practice polygamy.

- the church does not teach that God was once adam.

If you disagree with Pentecostals do not misrepresent their doctrine.

- the church does not teach that second baptism is necessary for salvation.
- that all Pentecostals deny the Trinity.
- the church does not promote anti-intellectualism

Here is the deal - promoting half-truths is characteristic of the serpent in the Garden - if you disagree with other doctrine - represent it properly and state your disagreement. There are plenty of differences between the three doctrines I featured - there is no need to misrepresent them.

At best, misrepresentation of doctrine reveals ignorance, at worst, devilry.

MY INFORMATION COMES FROM ONE WHO SERVED AND PREACHED AND WAS A LEADER
FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS OF HIS 58 YEAR OLD LIFE
HE WAS A PRIEST AND ROSE IN THE RANKS TO BECOME A BISHOP
AND HERE IS WHAT HE STATES THE RCC ACCEPTS.......

I LISTED THESE AS I OPPOSED THEM ACCORDING TO BIBLICAL SCRIPTURE

I AM AGAINST HOMOSEXUALS PREACHING TO OTHERS HOW TO LIVE FOR GOD
I AM AGAINST CONFESSING SINS TO HUMAN BEINGS
I AM AGAINST MAKING MARY SOMETHING SHE IS NOT
I AM AGAISNT BUYING YOUR PENTENCE
I AM AGAINST THE BELIEF OF PERGATORY
I AM AGAINST PRAYING TO STATUES
I AM AGAINST PRAYING TO SAINTS
I AM AGAINST PUTTING A MAN EQUAL TO GOD.......AKA : THE POPE

ONCE AGAIN THIS IS FROM.......

I HAVE A MAN WHO IS NOW AN ADVISOR IN OUR CHURCH
WHO WAS WHAT YOU CATHOLICS CLASSIFY AS A ....... BISHOP
ACCORDING TO HIM THIS IS A HIGH RANK WITHIN THE RCC
HE HAS ALL THE ARTICLES BY WHICH I HAVE MY INFORMATION BASED OFF OF
SO
EITHER YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING
OR
LIKE YOU DO BEST
YOU ARE COVERING YOUR OWN TRACKS

MAYBE IT IS POSSIBLE
THAT SOMEONE ONLINE MAKING A CASE
AGAINST
SOMEONE THAT WAS ONCE A BISHOP IN THE RCC
SHOULD BE CONSIDERED THE BOTTOM LINE TRUTH
I RATHER PERSONALLY MYSELF
TAKE THE WORDS OF A BISHOP
WHO HAS DECIDED THAT THE WAY HE ONCE BELIEVED
IS NO LONGER
ACCEPTABLE UNTO GOD
SO HE MADE A CHANGE IN HIS LIFE
AND IS NOW A VERY VOCAL AND TOWERING MEMBER
OF OUR CONGREGATION
AND I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE HIS GREAT WISOM AND DIRECTION
TO HELP LEAD IN OUR CHURCH

You must of misunderstood him. It is not possible to become a Catholic priest at the age of eighteen. There are higher education requirements and a period of training.

Okay people... last warning.

Please NO MORE personal attacks on other chatters, no more insults, no more offensive comments, or negativity.

If you can't all play nice together, I will start issuing infractions.

I HAVE NO DOUBTS HE IS HONEST
IT IS YOU I HAVE DOUBTS WITH
Here is the good news - if you doubt me you can consult the Catholic Catechism on the Vatican website.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM

or you can continue putting you head in the sand by consulting some guy who claims to be a former bishop. We all know how reliable people are who are former members of a church they now criticize.

Makes me wonder why a church relies on a person instead of going to the source - is that how you approach the Bible?

SERIOUSLY people, I just banned one person, don't make me start infractioning more of you.

Please, just try to have healthy debate without offending other members.

Thanks.

No problem. Just try and ask yourself...'Can I post what I really want to say without upsetting someone?' If the answer is NO, then it's probably best not to post it at all.

My theology professor used to say "To disagree with honorable men is not to dishonor them, and how you disagree with them proves whether you are honorable."

What does it say about you if you disagree with people by TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND BOLD TEXT? ;)

But yes, I would like to emphatically agree with Aspen here. Doctrinal disagreements are distracting enough from the main imperatives of our faith, and to go a step farther and make up things about other doctrines is outright immoral.

Yes, I was getting quite annoyed by that. Makes it seem like he is shouting back at you in a controlling tone.

nice concept but it assumes they are consistent and truthful

I have had a mormon bishop tell me one thing

then when a mormon lay person asks one of her junior elders about it he denies it

either he does not yet know or he lies to her

AS for RC, if it walks like a duck etc

they deny they encourage the worship of Mary?

maybe they do; on paper.............................

Personally, I don't understand why so many Christians hate Catholics.
