Ask yourself this:

1: Do i believe in God ?

2: Have i accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior ?

3: Have i truly confessed my sins, and asked for forgiveness ?

4: Have i been baptized ?

If so why doubt if you are saved our not. No matter if you are told by others that you are not a member of God's church you will know yourself that you are, and God knows that you are when you can say yes to these questions. Don't let any body tell you that if you do not speak in tongues, prophecy, or anything else like that you are not truly saved. Yes in Acts in does show that every one who received the Holy Spirit spoke in tongues, but then if you keep reading through the Bible Paul teaches not every one will receive that gift. Paul also says a lot in the Bible where he says he wishes, but it is not necessary. Thank you and God bless.

Agree with just about all of this, except for that EVERYONE in Acts part......might want to have a closer read of Acts.......otherwise, ok.

Yes they should, i just put that in there about Acts cause even though it does not say specifically in one spot every one received the Holy Spirit. They use the argument that they only way the others around could understand them is if they did speak in different tongues. So they use that for their argument you have to speak in tongues if you receive the Holy Spirit, and if you don't you haven't actually received the Holy Spirit. They fail to read the other scriptures on the subject, or justify their argument saying the tongues speaking of in those scriptures is different than what was mentioned in acts. They fail to realize that the reason all or most received the gift of tongues in Acts was in order for them to spread the good news of salvation from our Lord was to speak in other tongues. Once that was achieved the other gifts from the Holy Spirit could be handed out. Paul clearly states that not every one will receive the gift of tongues.
