How many people really read the Bible cover to cover? I was wondering how many people in here really read the Bible on a regular bases. How many times have you read the Bible? How many translations have you read?

I read the bible a lot. When my schedule was set I would read the bible every morning before work, at lunch and after dinner. I would get through the bible cover to cover in about 6-8 months. Now that my schedule is not set I don't read the bible as often. I'm in 2Corinthians now. I started Genesis 4-8-11. It will probably be another month or so before I get to Revelations. KJV, of course...

I read my Grandmas ESV version once. It had the apocrypha in it and I read that too. Pretty interesting but I wasn't convicted to read them again.

When I first got saved I read the bible ALLOT, I think the most of what I learned was probably accumulated within the first year of my conversion. Now I don't read as often, I still read everyday, just not as much as I would like to. I am also now learning to do more than just reading for head knowledge and more for spiritual growth, I have done both but now I am trying to do that latter more. I have read through the whole bible except for 1 & 2 Chronicles I think. I have read many books numerous times, especially the OT. I just started trying to get through the bible in 7 month, I'm in Deuteronomy now. I read out of an ESV, I used to use a KJV and an NIV when I first got saved.

On average, I get a daily reading from the OT and from the NT; seven Psalms; and another reading (from the Bible at large). About an average of two times a week or so, I go back to the Greek or Latin to look up something that's piqued my interest.

I typically read from the RSV, NAB, and Nestle-Aland GNT. I'll look to other versions to compare and contrast, on occasion, when I'm trying to get a sense for how a given Greek text has been translated.

I've gone "cover to cover" once.

For many years, I had read the Bible, a scripture here a chapter there.
Mostly because, I didnt think I could read the whole Bible, because my dislexic and cognitive issues made this impossible.
Then, Jesus put it on my heart to try reading the whole Bible, no skiipping.
It took me over a year, I was amazed ,as I know that I could not have done it on my own, it was Gods gift and power that made it possible.
I felt like I had been taken to the highest mountain and was given the eyes to see forever, I cannot begin to express the joy of being given this gift.

I am beginning to read an older King james version, large print, what is interesting is because of the way english is spoken in this version, it is easyer to read. :)
Who knew! :) That a language spoken in a backward way, was just what I needed. :)
I do love how so much more of the word is revieled in this version.
I can only say, do read the whole bible, so much more is revieled of Gods love for us in Jesus, and how great is His power, wisdom, understanding, rightousness, care, mercy, promise, grace and humor.
It is trully His word given to us.
Do not worry about how you will read the whole bible, just open the book and let God speak it to you.

God bless

Yes, I understand how you feel, it's like you can feel His Life being imparted
into you, it's a wonderful feeling.

And makes you just want more huh?

I've read it cover to cover (but mine has a bit more between the covers that yours;)). I have quite a few translations as Bible collecting is a hobby of mine. Currently I'm reading through a KJV I got for Christmas and am supplementing the KJV's lack of the Deuterocanonical books with the DR.

I'd say on average I manage about an hour of Bible reading a day.

The word of God saved my life. After losing my husband I had to figure out who God was. I started in Genesis and read all the way to Revelation. I have to admit that I stopped there. God spoke to me every morning through his word. He wrapped his arms around me and healed my heart with his word. In March it will be 5yrs since losing my husband. Every morning I open his word and he meets me there. I never thought I could feel what I feel for my Heavenly Father, or that he could love me as I know he does. On top of that, I've been given the privilege of sharing his word with others. NLT, NKJV, AMP and MSG.

God is Awesome!!!!!!!
