So happy I voted for President Trump.

Well since Chat GPT and I are working together tonight a question came to my mind, psychology is always fascinating to me.

So true and I noticed there are no positives on the list, makes sense.

People who frequently give red X’sor downvotes, disapprovals, or similar negative feedback—on a discussion board often share a few psychological traits or motivations, though these can vary depending on context. Here are some common patterns:

1. Desire for Control or Authority
  • Some individuals use red X’s to assert dominance or reinforce what they believe to be the “right” perspective.
  • They may feel they are correcting others or guarding the space’s standards.
2. Perfectionism or Rigid Thinking
  • They might hold very black-and-white views, seeing certain comments as simply wrong rather than open to interpretation.
  • This rigidity can lead them to downvote rather than engage in dialogue.
3. Need for Social Validation
  • Ironically, some give red X’s to align with others, hoping to be seen as part of the “in group” or majority opinion.
4. Low Tolerance for Dissent
  • These users may react negatively to views that challenge their worldview, not because the idea is poorly argued but because it is unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
5. Frustration or Resentment
  • If a person feels unheard, powerless, or resentful in other areas of life, they may use the red X as a low-risk outlet for expressing that frustration.
6. Avoidance of Engagement
  • Instead of debating or explaining their disagreement, they may prefer the red X as an impersonal, consequence-free way to disapprove without discussion.

Well I feel into the trap but then someone here pointed out how childish it was and so I try to watch myself.
But some people just double and trip down, very sad.

I do think Chap GPT was right on, and while I may on occasion have some of those behaviors her and there, there are a few who seem to fit the full enchilada.

I honestly would like to know how you live with yourself, and the massive hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance you engage in.

How is a person able to lie to themselves so easily? What do you tell yourself?

How many red Xs have YOU given to people?

Your jealousy and hatred of America and its people is disturbing.

Her high school years must have been tough because she lives according to public opinion with no clear ideas of her own in complete dissonance like you said.

Libs are generally unstable and emotionally weak, always looking for safe spaces while trying to shut everyone down with their fascism and now that they’re faced with their anti-self, Donald Trump they’re taking their emotional rollercoaster to a new level which should help Trump again who’s been playing them like a fiddle this whole time.

Yup one person gave me alone 500 ... and same to others.

There is a lot more going on there than a simple disagree.
Sad. We should be able to lovingly disagree and enjoy friendly banter like family, as brothers and sisters.

We don't have to agree, but we all sit at the same Father's table.

That's a question easily answered.... Anyone can go to their profile and see their personal reaction stats. The case of the red X's is one where it might be better to receive than give. You can't do much about receiving them, but to dish them out should be seen as a true badge of shame. The proverbial scarlet letter.

Some liberals hide their profiles because they’re ashamed. ;)

I find that mighty big “X” incredibly boring. I have dished out one myself, but I couldn’t find out to whom I gave it.

On the flip side I have received 21 of those pesky “X” symbols. Under my former username I think I was on the receiving end a hundreds of times lol. Some people really are itching to set me straight.😂

I thought you said in the thread you started in the News forum that polling was sensationalist, headline grabbing propaganda. I guess that's only when it shows low approval numbers for the Donald?
Apparently, the Donald can do no wrong.

I've received my share of X too. Sort've like a badge of honor. I take it as a sign that I'm on the right track.

No, that's not the beginning for this chapter because Nixon didn't confuse a donkey with a woman.
The beginning was when "don't ask don't tell" was ended and then all reality came down in pieces and up was down and down was up.
But Nixon clearly was a wee bit confused. He bugged the donkeys unlawfully and then said he was “not a crook”.

I don’t think the donkeys were jennies, so you might be right about him being able to not confuse them with jacks.🤣

I had a look at my x-es, not ex-es, and there’s three people behind my full load of x-es at a ratio of 13/5/3.😂

I wonder if Donald Trump is lying about being in talks with China.

I wonder if Donald Trump is lying about being in talks with China.

Hard to say on this one. The thing that makes me tend to think he's lying is the simple fact he won't release any information about the 200 countries he's supposedly made tariff deals with. Knowing his penchant for attention, I just can't believe he got 200 deals and isn't screaming all about it from the rooftops. Because of this, I'm inclined to think he's lying about China. He has to look like he's moving and shaking, getting it done; especially when he isn't.
