ROFL.
:)

Deflect, Equivocate, Obfuscate...
and if all else fails...
just make ad hominem attacks to smear the other person.

NICE
:)

For any young Christians reading this stuff,
be aware these are POLITICAL TACTICS used
primarily in the POLITICAL ARENA
to look like you've won arguments when you have no evidence.

It's done all the time.

Here's proof.
I'll reiterate my last question again, and you'll see there will be no evidential response, just verbal abuse.
(If there IS any evidential response, it will again resort to equivocation, obfuscation, and deflection.)

p_rehbein,

Please show me where God promises, in the New Testament, to give us "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

If you can't show these in the New Testament, as Promises from God, to ALL MEN, then they are NOT unalienable rights granted to all men by God. They are nice things, they are wonderful things... but that does not make them special rights granted to all men by God. And this makes the Declaration of Independence a great political document, but NOT something founded upon the Bible.
Period.

Odd, the "tactics" you are crediting me with surely seem to be those you are using throughout this thread brother. :)

I gave you the words of the Founding Fathers.............you didn't believe them.........they are Historical fact.

I gave you Scriptures from His Word.................you didn't believe them.........they are Truth.

I gave you specific examples................you did not believe them..........they are there for all to see and consider.

No need for me to "smear" you, nor desire to.......your own words reveal your "defeatist" ideology of Christianity. Your seemingly joyous acceptance of the "persecuted" lifestyle. My goodness brother, do you not know that when He ascended to the Throne after His resurrection, that Jesus Christ gave us VICTORY over persecution, over death and the grave? Why in Heaven's name would any one want to wallow in the persecuted lifestyle? The victory is yours for the asking. Scripture says you don't have because you don't ask.

My sincere prayer is that "any young believers" reading this NEVER accept your ideology of the "defeated" Theology. My goodness..........what Christian does not know that God promised all who believe life, and not just life, but live eternal! What Christian would in any way doubt this? What Christian does not understand that Jesus came to give us "liberty?" Liberty from the chains of sin that enslaved us.......liberty from this world of sin and defeat, and death? How on earth could any Christian doubt this? What Christian does not understand that Jesus even said He came to give us life, but not just life, but life more abundant? How does that escape the understanding of Believers? The Apostle Paul spends much of his time writing to believers on how to have a more rewarding, fulfilling life in Christ. That is true happiness, for it is joy in the Lord. How does any Christian not understand this?

Will we face/experience persecution from this world? YES! But Jesus has already conquered that persecution, and we do not have to wallow in sorrow, pity and defeat........we can be FREE, FREE INDEED! I know this because Jesus said so.

You have not one iota of evidence to contradict the Historical and Scriptural documentation I have provided. You simply refuse to accept.........to believe..........that's on you brother, not on me.

Read the New Testament..............it is full of promises of "life," "liberty" and "happiness."

Maxwell, please seek the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, for He will surely GIVE you life, liberty, and pure happiness.

With reference to this thread, unless you can provide detailed Historical evidence to completely discount the evidence, and/or documentation I have provided, then this discussion is complete. Your "saying" something "isn't true" doesn't make it not true........that's just your assertion, and it can only be based on a predisposed bias, for there is a plethora of Historical documentation to dispute your position.

Please pray for understanding.........

John 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 .) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 .) But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 .) The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 .) I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 .) As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 .) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

The Bible also says…“and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”.
Phil 4:6-7 (NKJV)

“Happy are the people whose God is the LORD”! Psalms 144:15 (NKJV)

“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full”. John 15:11 (NKJV)

these things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NKJV)
“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”. Psalms 73:25-26 (NKJV)
“Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life”. Psalms 119:49-50 (NKJV)

Ok, so, are we to judge ALL of the Founding Fathers based on Mr. Paine? Or, do we understand that not all of the Founding Fathers were believers.......but many of them were.........and even some of them who did not ascribe to the Christian Faith fully understood the need for Christianity and Faith in the founding of our Nation (for example: Thomas Jefferson)?
